Went this weekend and I wouldnât return. The line just from the driveway to the front of the line was about 2 hours. Waited 2.5 hours for the coffee and food. We got the biscoff and tiramisu lattes which were good in taste, but very disappointed in how the place is managed. Logistically speaking, I donât think they have it figured out in the back. To start off, the ordering is all messed it and they messed up peopleâs orders left and right. My drink was messed up 2 times before the right drink was made. They take down names, but then call out order numbers(they donât tell you your order number at the counter when placing your order or give receipts). Seemed like a mess from the ordering experience to the pickup process. Some of the pastries were sold out, but they failed to inform people or put up any sort of notice. Also while waiting 2+ hours, at one point, the owners friend came to support the new business, and the owner essentially let her friend cut the line by calling her to the back door and making her order. At the end of the day, a lot of people will have said they regretted waiting. It was good coffee but after that long of a wait, it kills the whole experience. Owner seems friendly and she is trying, but needs to retrain the staff for a more efficient workflow that is also customer focused. Cool cups though and I wish...
Read moreI was so excited try this new locally owned business. In these times, itâs important to support causes we believe in. I was a bit disappointed when I waited for two hours in the cold, and received the wrong size drink. I brought this up to an employee and received eye rolls and attitude. While they did remake my drink the man at the window was incredibly rude and retorted by stating that on my receipt they had put in the order for a size small as if I was the one who had typed in my own order. He wanted me to take accountability for their mistake. Mind you, they also messed up several other orders and were disorganized with the manner in which they handed out their drinks (calling out the wrong orders associated with the wrong names). This was a very disheartening experience and prevented me from fully enjoying my drink. I will not be coming back.
Edit: The owner of The Saucy Cup personally reached out and was incredibly kind and professional. I truly appreciate that she took the initiative to make things right and was genuinely apologetic about my experience. Her response shows that she cares about her customers and...
Read moreA new local coffee and food shop opened this summer, and I had to try their locally viral coffee. I ordered the Dolce Baklava Latte, and it was so good! Even though I always forget Iâm not the biggest fan of sweet drinks, I still really enjoyed the rich flavors and creativity in this one.
The chicken salad wrap was amazing, and I was pleasantly surprised by their variety of pastries and pastas. As a someone whoâs always craving something different, I love that this cafĂ© offers such a wide range of options . Based on their Instagram posts, I expected a bit of a wait and yes, itâs busy due to all the local support. We did notice a few customers complaining about the wait, but honestly, you donât often find coffee shops like this in the area. The wait is completely understandable and definitely worth it.
It makes me so happy to see women thriving and leading such a successful establishment. As someone who grew up in Bergen County, I feel proud to support them. We need more small businesses like this, theyâre doing an amazing job, and I hope to see more locations...
