The Second Saturday Record and CD Show — Local services in Wayne

Some of the vendors are nice, but one vendor in particular (an older guy that seemed to be the guy organizing the event) was extremely unpleasant and I heard him giving a hard time to a volunteer from another convention occurring in the same building. After speaking with another vendor, I learned that this was typical behavior of this guy. I ended up visiting the other convention, a comic book convention, where the workers and volunteers were all extremely nice and were telling customers they should go visit the record show, too. I wonder if they'd be telling those customers to go visit the record show if they knew how this guy was treating their volunteers and customers? Not to mention that the two ladies working the front table at the record show were also unpleasant. So, if you don't care about customer service, this is the record show for you.

Update: In response to the owner's response below, I've got some suggestions. One, you may not have been able to control the open door people were entering in on, but a simple sign could help alleviate some of that headache, especially since (as you state in your response) you knew another convention would be happening in the building AND didn't receive a response from the building's management when you foresaw there would be an issue. A sign (could be hand-written) that simply says "This is not an entrance" OR "The Second Saturday Record and CD Show ONLY". Two, while that experience of vendors from another show entering the open door at the front of the building (probably due to no signs being present and thinking they were entering the show they intended to enter) may be annoying, there is a nice way to speak to people, which this man certainly did not. I'm sure there was no mal-intent from those that accidentally entered your show. Did any stay and refuse to pay the entrance fee? Not to mention that there is a lot of bleed over between comic book collectors and record/cd collectors. Maybe instead of viewing it as a potential issue, you could have looked at it as an opportunity to gain more customers and money. Had this guy been nicer to the person I saw him giving a hard time to, maybe he would have gotten another customer? And maybe not. But, being nice goes a lot further than being rude. Great prices, great finds...I only wish the vendor's had more Hip Hop and Rap vinyls. All of the usual suspects were there; Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin and tons of used Jazz were available in various conditions and cost. Besides common and popular bands/ artists I was able to find some really cool obscure vinyls. Be sure to bring CASH with you and a reusable grocery bag or tote to carry your newfound treasures around also to make it easier to sifft through the creates full of thousands of vinyls. Be very careful when buying records. Don't take their word for the grading. I recommend you look at them under a good light. Prices are over priced.
