This place treats customers in a very bad way. While i understand that most of restaurants' workers make money by tips, that doesn't mean that tip is a right. they can't keep asking for tips, while treating customers in a that bad way. We were a group of 5 people. we went for lunch on 08/04/2019. We were told the hibachi station was working. Well, we had to wait for the person manning the station to be searched for. Then, he came looking like we annoyed him and caused him major inconvenience asking for food. we asked if we can get fried rice with our plates, the answer was a rude no. We asked for salt and pepper, answer was rude no (didn't even mention that salt and pepper are on our table. Just no, like we should have known since we dine there every single day, with an attitude of: you deserve it!). Then, he expected me to tip and was very frustrated when i didn't! Then we asked another worker, if they had tomatoes in the salad section, answer was no (while walking, didn't even stop to answer the question!). we go to a different station, and there were tomatoes! Nobody there wants to help, but want to be tipped and place a lot of pressure to make sure you know that they expect you to tip. Then, we all sat down to eat our food. Server showed up and was almost standing next to our table the whole time. He started pulling plates away while we went for more food. He even wanted to collect all plates from all seated people at the same time, like we all are supposed to be eating at the same speed! I may be finished with my plate, but that doesn't mean to pull plates from others in my company, or wait next to them till they finish! Then while we are eating, server randomly got our bill and placed it on the table without saying a word, then he stood next to it for us to notice! Server was trying to rush us out as soon as he can! i took care of the bill (while we are still eating), but i decided to not leave a lot of tip because of the rudeness of the server. Well, he didn't like that! he came back to me trying to convince me that the minimum tip i can leave is 15%! Well, this was BS, because they have a sign that says "a company of 8 people or more will automatically be charged 15% gratuity". i told him that we are 5, not 8! then, he changed the story and said that he took care of our table very promptly and he deserves more tip than that! At that point, i lost my patience and raised my voice saying that this is rude, and that i meant to leave him this exact amount of tip, and that this is the end of it. This place employs very rude people and never trains them. They all have the sense of entitlement to be tipped. They even have a small artificial pond with some fish they they starve. They make fish food available for 0.25 cents! They expect you to feed their fish with your own money! Also, don't let the word "new" in their name fool you. Facilities may have been renovated, but not maintained. I was surprised when i found no cold water in the men's room faucet! Yes, only hot water! in summer time! For me, this was my last visit to this place. Thanks to the rude staff, my mother-in-law's birthday was ruined. I highly discourage people from going to this place and supporting...
Read moreI have been coming to Ming Garden as far back as when it was at its previous location. It has always been a favorite of mine if you are in the mood for a good Chinese buffet. In recent years what I have learned with this place and many other buffets is that timing is everything. If you go too late the options and quality start to decrease. Last night I decided to go here because I was in the mood for Chinese and a hot meal since I had no power at home that evening. I have always had good service and the restaurant is very clean. However, when taking into consideration after the last handful of visits I am starting to become disappointed in the food, and last night was one of those nights. At 5:30pm you would think the time would be perfect, because this is a time frame for peak dinner hours. However, everything tasted like it had been siting out a while and other dishes were overly salty or sweet. The black pepper chicken tasted like it had been cooked in sugar and the fried scallops were dry and hard. I know not to take chances with seafood, so I didn't proceed to eat any of the other scallops I had on my plate. I hate that I felt like I wasted food, but like I stated I didn't want to take the chance. The cheese wontons were excellent when they came out fresh, but if you happen to get any others that had been sitting you could taste the difference. I typically enjoy getting the cocktail shell on shrimp, but the ice had completely melted and they were sitting in water. I really hate giving this review, but as I noted this is becoming a trend in my visits and I really hope things turn around. The price like many other places are going up, but the quality is going down. I would like to see this place improve, because at one time I use to rave...
Read moreNormally I really enjoy eating here, as I love their salt and pepper shrimp but today was another story. Me and a friend decided to drive over 40min because of the fact that it is one of my favorite places to eat, at this point it is no longer worth it. The waiter was decent, although during the course of us eating there a couple times, and we were without drinks for a while. I’m okay with that, what I wasn’t okay with is the service they expected for the crab legs. They no longer are on the buffet, so you order per pound. We decided to splurge a little and only order one pound, which when we looked at it was obviously not a pound and were so over boiled that they were stuck to the shell. On top of that the butter for it was so salty I could barely eat any of it. Then comes the check, we pay and of course I ask for a to go box because we had crab legs that we didn’t finish and since I already payed for it, it makes sense to me that i should be able to take them with me. Apparently that is not allowed, and the waiter didn’t even try to explain why, even though I kept telling her that I already payed for the pound of crab that werent even very good but since I payed for, I wanted to take what I had left home. Then we went to talk to management about it, which I give her credit for saying that it’s not something they normally do but she was willing to let us have, but I told her that the waiter had already gone and taken the plate away.
At the beginning of service as well, my friend found something in my drink. Once we managed to pull it out we discovered it was a piece of dirt. All that was done was just a new glass of drink, but of course we still had to pay for that as well. 1...
