BANNED FROM WAYNESBORO, PA WENDY'S FOR LIFE
Drove through Wendy's today with an order for my employees. I have been doing this every Friday for over 11 years, and they were doing it for far longer then that before me. Never (Except once at McDonald with a breakfast order) have I been asked to call ahead. We probably go to about once every 3 or 4 weeks. I have chatted with the Manager on duty many times and things were always extremely pleasant. This location has been open now for over 3 years, and the manager I chatted with normally was at another restaurant that we went to before this one opened in WAYNESBORO, PA.
This was one of our larger orders since three guys texted me on my way to the store. So we normally have a bill closer to $60. About what you would order if you had the kids in the van on a trip. The Miranda Miller took my order then informed me after she game me the total that next time I needed to call in the order. No problem, I moved on and paid. When I got my food I was short one drink, which I can understand, and I asked Miranda for the drink. I was handed one that was sitting there for the next person and told never to come back. I said "Excuse me". I was then hit with "Don't ever come back", "You are Rude", "You are banned from this store", "I don't ever want to see you here again".
I held my temper and replied with "I will come back another time and speak with the manager," to which she responded with "I am the general manager. Don't come back." I did not say another word, and drove off as Miranda continued to yell out the drive through window.
I am not saying that calling ahead would not be better. When asked by stores we do. We visit other local restaurants, and for some we have been asked to call ahead or it is their policy to have you call ahead. Have you ever tried to call a franchise location like Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger King or the likes? They phone can ring forever without an answer. We also purposefully go to these location before noon so as not to be at the height of the rush.
I can only hope that Miranda was just having a bad day. Hopefully venting at me solved the issues she was having. Guess we will be spending more time at McDonalds, Subway, Burger King and other local restaurants, since i can't get my employees food from Wendy's.

Read moreThe location was overwhelmed with customers that night and was extremely slow service. Everyone was doing their best to keep up, but it was very difficult to keep everyone satisfied. I would urge them to stop allowing online orders if they are that bombarded with walk-in and drive-thru customers and keep up with orders. We arrived and were told to go inside for out online order, but when we got I side there was a line of 6 people already waiting for their orders. No one made us aware that we had to let the one (1) cashier, that was working the counter for walk-in service, that we were there for an online order. We were expecting to jusy walk in, go to "online orders" pick-up kiosk area, and grab our order. When we had waited for over 30 minutes, we decided to ask where our order was and that was when we were told that we needed to check in before they made our food. Seems like a waste of time to place an order online and then still have to wait even longer for them to make the food as well. More organization is needed at this location. Sean, the Manager on duty, was very apologética and even offered us free cookies for the extra hassle and tome waiting. No one will ever be perfect and we understand they were extremely busy for a Friday night, but a little organizations would go a long way for them at this location. There were so many people making rude and disrectpectful comments to the workers about their extra long wait time, but that was not appropriate and we stated to them, after we got our food, to just keep doing the best they can and don't let the negative and rude customers ruin their efforts to serve the good customers. Will definitely be back again, but definitely not on a Friday...
Read moreIt seems everytime we try to go through the drive thru, we get ready to order and they say they are cash only. I'm not sure who manages the location, but they need to figure out the problem.
5/6/23 Update I've went back a couple times and things started to get better, but over the weekend we stopped in and ordered 3 biggie bags through the drive-thru. Was immediately told to pull around and park. I waited over 10 minutes and started walking in to get my food and they met me at the door. 2 of the bags were right, but the 3rd didn't even have a piece of chicken on it, they literally wrapped up a piece of lettuce and tomato in a bun....
5/8/23 Update - Ran through the drive thru on the way home from the baseball game and ordered 2 biggie bags. It was just burgers, fries and nuggets. Nobody behind us in line and we were told to pull around and wait. It's gonna be a while before we consider...
