Golden Moon Restaurant — Restaurant in Weatherford

I just called to attempt to make a delivery order, and while I was on the phone was told it was “1 hour, and 15 minute wait for deliver.” I agreed, and while I was waiting to make a payment over the phone I heard a very unprofessional and harsh comment from the rude woman who took the order stating to another person while I was on the phone “Can you believe this person is going to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes just for a Chicken Pad Tai.” When I told the woman I heard what she said, she paused. I then asked if I can speak to the manger, because I was not pleased with what I heard from this person. She then stated “there is no one here, I am the manager.” I stated “well that is very unprofessional and flat out rude, I have eaten there before and it’s been delivered to me and thus the reason I was willing to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for this one order!” I was very unhappy with the whole conservation, and how this so called manager handled herself over the phone. Customer’s should be treated with respect, thus how a business manages to stay in business in this town. If this business conducts their business talking behind their customers back, and having an unprofessional person (the lady who took my order) only in charge, then it is not worth even spending your money there. Go somewhere else! Big or small order, 1 hour or 30 minute wait you should never put down any customers order! I do not recommend ordering food, little alone eating at Golden moon after this incident! Who knows what else they say behind their customer’s back, or what...

I should have done my research before eating at Golden Moon. The photos of their dishes looked decent enough, so I figured I'd give it a whirl while in Weatherford.

Mistake. They say they're Thai, but they also offer Chinese-influenced dishes. That should have been my first clue. With such a small menu, and authentic Thai place wouldn't waste resources on Chinese dishes. But I digress.

Case and point: the food is not very good. It's not Thai food, it's not flavorful food, and it's not satisfying food. This place was rated one of the best local restaurants?

1. I ordered egg drop soup to start, and they give me over-salted chicken broth with an egg and peas and some carrot.
2. I ordered a spring roll. In the photo, the spring roll looks like a friggin spring roll with the rice paper skin. Instead they give me an eggroll. A fried eggroll. Unfortunately that was the best part of the meal.
3. I ordered veggies with rice, and my dad ordered yellow curry. My veggies- drenched in sauce -looked and tasted microwaved, and my rice was SALTED with carrots, peas, and corn in it. Very...authentic of them? My dad's curry had the consistency of Campbell's tomato soup and was, according to him, bland. He, too, was given salted rice.

I just don't understand how that kind of food can get derailed that badly. I've eaten a lot of Thai food from a lot of different cities and restaurants, and this meal will be one I remember for all the...

We went to Golden Moon for lunch. The food was well seasoned, good sized portions, and cooked perfectly. The problem was there was no welcoming smiles. We arrived and stood at the door watching a girl wrap silverware and a bus guy clean off a table. The bus guy turned around and said across the room, “Do you want a table or booth,” and pointed to both, and walked away. We sat at a table and someone put menus down without saying anything. Shortly the waitress came by and took our drink order. She brought our drinks, then took our order. Very shortly she brought our soup, rice, and spring rolls. Then about half way through our spring rolls she brought our lunch. She served my husband first then reached over him to put my plate on the table waiting for me to move things so she would have room. Not once did we see a smile or have anyone say anything to us, such as “Welcome”, or “Is everything ok”, or “Can I get you anything else”, or “Come back to see us”. Then to top it off, the waitress said “Here’s the check” tossed it on the table and disappeared.

The food was so good, we will go back, but we will not expect anyone there to care that...
