Shep's — Restaurant in Weatherford

This was our first time to go here. I will never go back, even if it was free I wouldn’t go back, even if someone paid me I’d be like “nah I’m good” this was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We were doing some shopping on the square and my brother in law wanted to go here because of the reviews. Note:: don’t always believe positive reviews some businesses pay for positive reviews. I’ve never been paid for a review ever. So we go, the restaurant seems kind of cool the way it’s decorated inside we opt to eat outside because it’s warm inside. Im not a big fan of outdoor eating but it was somewhat nice out there. The server comes over she has dark hair, thin, sleeves of tattoos which im not against but I don’t know her name so this is how I am identifying her because photos. Placed a drink order as in water, one beer, one unsweetened tea and three kids drinks. We had our three kids with us all under ten, all girls. We order drinks and appetizers the server (dark haired girl) says im so glad you ordered this we are behind. We get appetizers they aren’t good, ones queso the other was a brown color. The brown “salsa” I’m assuming had a hair in it. Then we sit there for 45 minutes, no I’m not exaggerating at all. It was so long and I’m watching this brown haired girl who was later told she was the bartender anyways I watched her go to four other tables, I watched her talk about her arm tattoos for over 20 minutes, I watched her take countless selfies. I watched her go to all these other tables it was beyond ridiculous!, I go find the manager but he says he’s the assistant manager he says she’ll be back to take order, I said I want another server. This red haired girl comes over she is clearly irritated, rude, short, mean. I go back tell manager. I wasn’t trying to be a Karen but this was a horrible experience. Then dark haired girl comes back brings food, there’s a plastic piece on my sister in laws burger they say they’ll replace it. The fries were tasteless and gross. The burger was edible, it wasn’t good, it looked much better than it tasted. I imagined them hauking loogies in our food in the back. There’s a guy server by us and he has a huge table, he’s on top of everything. I was wishing we got him. My sister in law got a new burger she took bun off and it’s a broken piece of meat like it tore apart and they were like yeah it’s good and sent it to table. She ate it then we waited over an hour for our check, I asked three different people for manager then got up and asked two more people for manager still no manager at one hour and ten minutes. So just to be clear we had three adults and three children. That’s not a big group. The manager, Jaime comes over she’s apologizing blah blah blah she’s going to talk to staff this should not have happened then she says “well to be fair she’s a bartender and busy” I hate the fact that Jamie made excuses for this woman who clearly shouldn’t be working there when we watched her talk about her tattoos, take selfies, you name it. So Jaime’s apology meant nothing as soon as she was making excuses for that dark haired girl!!, Jaime comped the entire meal which great but I wish we had our two hours and fifteen minutes back!! This was beyond awful.

Also there’s the dark haired tattooed server, he rude red headed server, the guy who I wish was our server in these pictures because I don’t know their names. I will never be back. The only good thing about this place was they had the cutest t shirt “eat burgers pet dogs” I wanted one but all they had was XL and it was giant. Oh also someone caused a disgusting mess in the woman’s room and they had some young 16 year old girl on her hands and knees cleaning it which upset me too. Why is this girl doing it?, there are all kinds of diseases she could have got.

I’m going to say this in advance I’m sure I’ll get a reply oh we are sorry yada, yada, yada I don’t care about your sorries when you make excuses for bad employees!!! I will never ever ever be back there as...

First time here today and EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING was excellent! Right after we ordered our food my husband used the bathroom and when he got back I went to use the bathroom. When I came out of the bathroom OUR FOOD WAS READY!!! We literally went to the bathroom right after one another and were only gone for a few minutes each. We were shocked how fast our food came out. Everything was super HOT and FRESH. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries and my husband got the Matchstick Burger with GIANT onion rings. Emphasis on GIANT, the onion rings were something out of a science fiction film they were that enormous. They were dipped in a batter that resembled one of chicken fried steak. Not only were they seasoned, they were DELICIOUS! I need to know where are they getting onions in that big! LOL My Buffalo Chicken sandwich was absolute perfection and so happy I got it (I usually order wings at places when they have em but was craving something with bread)…the piece of chicken was huge! It came out on each side of the sandwich and was covered in a mild buffalo sauce. I believe it had lettuce and red onion. It was piping hot and still crunchy even though it was covered in a sauce. The sweet potato fries were also heavenly. I think they were battered slightly? They had a wonderful crunch factor to them! They also gave us some ranch on the side and their ranch was amazing too. The buns you can tell were home made, I am obsessed. My husband loved his food, and was very happy with his burger. We will be dreaming about this food for a while, probably until our next visit. Service from Jo was absolutely amazing too, she was so nice and had awesome red hair! Excellent food, excellent service, and the prices are amazing too, we both got substitute sides ($3 each) as well as a drink from the bar. We love the food and environment, which is why we continue to come back. However our service has been terrible the last few times we’ve been. For example, a little over a month ago we were seated on the front patio. After about 5 minutes 2 other girls were seated next to us. We had not been greeted. The server comes out and greets the other table, does not acknowledge us whatsoever. She brings their drinks and their appetizer, still had not been greeted by anyone. While I was getting up to go inside to see if we would be greeted she came out and said she didn’t see us. We had made eye contact several times. She saw us. We decided to stay and needless to say, the service just sucked. Once we got our food she never came back for re-fills or to ask if we wanted any more drinks. We had to go get her to get our ticket.

Most recently, on 07/03 we decided to come back with our kids since it is a fun environemnt. We were seated in the back room next to the pool tables and could tell our server was noticeably stressed or upset from the very beginning. We figured she might be having a bad day so we emphasized on the delay in getting our drinks. She served me and my boyfriend our first round, but was gone for a good 30 minutes so my boyfriend went and ordered at the bar. Not sure what the bartenders name was but she would not allow him to order me a drink without my ID, completely understand. I realized I left my ID in my purse at home so I tried to show a photo, she wouldn’t take it. Also completely understand, rules a rule. However, instead of speaking to your paying customer in a very rude and condescending tone, train your staff on this policy. It’s not my responsibility to show her my ID if she doesn’t ask.
