This was our first time here. If I could give this place twenty stars I would. We had to wait outside for maybe fifteen minutes, we got in and I had hot chocolate which was delightful. Then we ordered, the food came out the portions were so big and it smelled so good. It smelled like a home cooked breakfast meal like when I was a little girl and my granny would make this gigantic breakfast spread and your nose is just going crazy with the most delicious smells. Just imagine the best breakfast smells. Then I take a bite my taste buds were going crazy it was the best breakfast I’ve ever had in my entire life, I’m not even joking. It was so good. This is my new breakfast spot for the rest of my life. My husband and daughter loved theirs too!, you know when you eat something so delicious and you’re so completely full and you just keep eating because it’s so good?, it was exactly like that. I was so full, so stuffed and so sleepy afterwards. The waitress was so sweet too. Everyone was. It is family owned and operated. Make sure you go there hungry. Ohhh and the pancake tasted like cake!!!, I’ve never tasted anything like that it must be someone’s great grandmas secret recipe was shocked eating it like whatttt?!!!! That pancake was the best pancake I’ve ever had. I’ll see yall next weekend. I’m a brand new regular...
Read moreMy family decided to go exploring today and had set our sights on Weatherford. We wanted to get breakfast from a local establishment so we dropped into Whistle Hill's cafe for breakfast. It was not busy so parking was easy and we were seated not more than 5 minutes of signing in.
It took nearly 15 minutes for anyone to come up and take our order after we sat down. Finally got my coffee and the handle left some sticky residue on my fingers. Gross. We finally received our food and our server asked if I'd like more coffee. I told her that I would love some more and that was the last we saw anyone. No one came to check on us the rest of our time there. Our server would pass us time to time and would eye my coffee cup. I'd thought for sure she will come back to fill it up but never came. We had to flag someone down just to get our bill and paid cash because we did not want to wait for them to come back and take our payment. Who knows how long that would've taken.
Definitely won't be coming back. And just to reiterate... they were not busy. They just chose to ignore us for...
Read moreWe came here based on the high review, but I can’t imagine why it’s so high. The food was nothing extraordinary, nor was the service anything but standard. The ambience is nice and it’s a quaint sort of small town restaurant so it was a nice atmosphere. I had tomato soup, similar to canned Campbells, and it came with a packaged roll. My companion had a lunch plate, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes and chicken fried steak, with the packaged roll. Again, pretty standard, not terrible and not amazing. The price was about right for the quality. There were many fried items on the menu. Hilarously enough, the first day we visited, the menu was quite sparse as their fryer had broken down, so choices were more limited. Despite the shortcomings, it was a much better choice value-wise than a restaurant a few doors down that was charging New York bistrot prices for Italian food. In conclusion, based on the other choices in this town, I would recommened this restaurant based on value and atmosphere. Just don’t expect to be amazed. (Not recommended for vegans or artery-conscious...
