Loncheria Kristi — Restaurant in Wendover

It's not very frequently that you see 5-star review from almost everyone who has visited, so I had to check this place out for myself. We drove about 2 hours out of our way and it was 100% worth it! We ordered everything off of their menu, in order to try all the possibilities. Every. Single. Bite. Was. FANTASTIC! The sopes, rajas con queso gorditas, green avocado salsa, and chicken quesadilla were my favorite. My husband loved the burrito, sopes, and nopales con chile verde gorditas. Kristi is a kind woman and very friendly. She smiled as she took all the lunchtime orders and talked to everyone as if they were long lost friends. She can turn anyone's bad day better with her smiles and a some good sopes! After our bellies were completely stuffed, we actually ordered some sopes, pupusas and gorditas to eat later as we drove. ...

I stopped here in July on my way to Iowa. The lady and her husband running it were some of the sweetest, most open-hearted folks I have met. And the food was made straight from the heart. So fresh and quality ingredients. This place opened me up to Salvadoran food and I haven’t stopped thinking about the chiccarone pupusas since!! I was so into the food and their technique that she even showed me how to roll out the pupusa…basically she brought me to tears with their kindness, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. My friend got a quesadilla, I tried the gorditas. I remember I got something with cactus. All was so excellent and seasoned well. The cortida they make is excellent, and the avo/guacamole type dip was amazing. Simple food, done right. I’m drooling just thinking...

¡Fantastico! GREAT FIND! On a road trip from Moab, UT back to the San Francisco Bay Area, looking for decent food in a landscape of nothing around, except for a few uninteresting options. We saw the reviews for Loncheria Kristi and thought, “really”? Could a little food truck on this lonely stretch of Hwy 80 be that great? WOW WOW WOW!! The food was delicious, fresh, gloriously seasoned. Home-made to order by the loveliest folks ever. I am Hispanic and know my Mexican food. The gorditas were incredible and the mole just perfection.
