Just like one of the songs from the Emoji movie, my experience can be defined as “it’s gotta be Meh” as best. We came to the restaurant because it was close to the hotel we were staying and it had overall good reviews. The place was not busy with multiple people at the front counter but we had to wait several minutes to be seated. We asked for a booster seat for my toddler twice but had to get one ourselves. We had to ask someone that wasn’t our waiter for more chips and I had to ask someone at the front for more silverware and refills. Instead of just doing it themselves they decided it was better to hunt for our MIA waiter and argue with him to get it, and when he did he brought all of the wrong drinks, arguing with us as to what we were drinking. Our food was warm at best but at this point I felt so defeated as we had already waited longer than I would like and had two little boys to feed. I had ordered a side of tacos to share with the boys and ended up enjoying them more than my actual meal as the cheese enchiladas were soggy and lacking anything that resembled cheese on the inside. The check has no identifiers as to what charges are what, just dollar amounts. This made discussing that my bill seemed slightly higher than what it should have been another uphill battle I would have loved to have but couldn’t since I had tired children with me. The person at the front taking my money never asked how my food or experience was, and I’m assuming it’s because they saw us have to run around the restaurant 3 times to do our servers job. At least some people had good experiences here,...

Avoid this restaurant at al costs. I’m writing this before we even left the restaurant after this terrible experience. Even for the low standards that I expect coming in with a group of 7, this was an abysmal experience. We were seated, after waiting about 10 minutes because there were only 2 employees in the whole place and they had to clean off a table. No big - I understand. We get to the table and it’s tiny. We had two kid spills before finally getting fed up and dragging another table over. And by the way, we had to clean up both spills ourselves because the wait staff was nowhere to be found. We had to get our own napkins and silverware because no one brought us any. So anyway, after pulling the table over so that we could comfortably sit with 4 kids and 3 adults, the waiter comes over and tells us that we can’t do that. I politely declined to change the configuration because we needed the extra room. Oh and at this point we’d asked 3 times for refills and hadn’t gotten them. He left without getting our drinks to tell the manager (I think) that we’d put a table together. He was polite enough about it, but after a polite conversation and a third spill.... we finally just split up our family and sat at two tables because apparently COVID can’t get you if you split your family up into two tables. The rest of the meal passed without much fanfare, but they didn’t really come back to check on us and it was just a bad experience overall. I’d love to say the food made it worth the hassle, but it was...

My friend and I took the French Lick trolley from the hotel to this restaurant as it was recommended to use it for a nice dinner. We are from Chicago and we have a lot of Mexican restaurants here and I realize there are a lot of 5 star reviews so maybe we came on a bad day or we have a specific way we are used to our Mexican food anyway our food was not what we were hoping for especially after being told it was good food. I ordered a bean burrito and a cheese enchilada along with a Miller lite beer. My friend ordered a steak taco and a margarita. The steak in the taco was very grisly. She didn't eat most of it and there wasn't a lot of flavor. The margarita was just okay. My bean burrito was basically a bean gravy. The beans were just watery. There were no actual beans in it. It was more like a wet gravy and it just poured right out of the shell. The cheese and the enchilada was not enchilada cheese. I think it was yellow cheese which is not normally what we have an enchilada. Overall, we were not so excited about our food. The atmosphere and the service was good and everybody was friendly. The menu was a great menu and had a good selection but overall this restaurant it just...

My children choose Miguel's because it's a local favorite. We went on a Wednesday at the end of the supper hours, so it wasn't too busy. Quickly seated, we had drinks in rapid time: iced tea, bottled beer, and 2 mango margaritas. We were also served fresh nachos chips and salsa. We ordered sour cream and guacamole as well. The menu is large, mostly due to the number of combination plates offered. This is typical for Mexican restaurants. If you're not familiar with Mexican cuisine, it could be overwhelming. The key to know is they're grouped by popular craving combinations. This wasn't a problem for us. Craving a bit of everything, my boys and I ordered the special dinner combination plate. This comes with one of just about every standard: including: chile rellano, tamale, chimichonga, taco, empanada, accompanied with diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce and cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. It includes sides of rice and beans. My daughter in-law ordered a shrimp chimichonga. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. Prices are reasonable. Decor and overall ambeiance is geniune. Very enjoyable for all of us.

The food and service at Miguel’s is awesome. Although we’ve only been there one time, it was a very positive experience. I’m not sure what our waiter’s name was, but he took care of our needs (ordering, bringing chips and salsa, and offering drink refills, bringing the check) without hovering. Excellent service. The general atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. Not too quiet and not too loud. The food was very good. I ordered some sort of sampler type of platter and it was huge. Needless to say, the leftovers I took home were great. I would recommend visiting Miguel’s to anyone looking for a sit down meal. I look forward to returning!
