Valley Inn — Hotel in French Lick

OK MY EXPERIENCE AT THE LANE MOTEL WAS TERRIBLE.....WE WENT THERE IN APRIL OF THIS YEAR 2015!! I WAS NOT THERE IN TIME TO "CHECK IN" THE OFFICE SAID IF I WAS NOT GOING TO BE THERE BY 9 P.M. I NEEDED TO GIVE HIM MY CREDIT CARD # TO HOLD THE ROOM! THERE WAS MAYBE 3 CARS TOTAL IN THE PARKING LOT?? WEIRD TO HAVE TO HOLD A ROOM FOR ME IF THERE ISNT ANYONE THERE, AT LEAST FROM WHAT WE SEEN.

SO THEREFORE I HAD TO GIVE "RANDY" MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO HOLD THE ROOM. WE GET THERE AFTER THE OFFICE CLOSED AND RANDY HAD STATED TO ME THAT MY"KEY" WOULD BE UNDER THE MAT......WHICH I THOUGHT THAT WAS A LITTLE ODD FOR A THEM TO PUTOUR ROOM KEY UNDER THE MAT? WEIRD :( WE GET THERE AND BACK OUR TRUCK UP CLOSE TO THE STEPS TO GET TO OUR DOOR AND BY THIS TIME 2-3 A.M. IT'S PITCH PITCH BLACK OUT THERE, SO I GOT OUT AND STARTED TO WALK UP THE STAIRS AND SEEN BROWN BUGS CRAWLING EVERYWHERE KEEP IN MIND AGAIN IT WAS AROUND 2:30 TO AROUND 3 A.M. AND WE SEEN THESE BUGS!!! I IMMEDIATELY GOT MY PHONE OUT CAUSE I COULD NOT SEE VERY GOOD THERE WAS NO LIGHTS WHERE OUR ROOM WAS.

I STARTED TO RECORD THESE "BUGS" THEY WERE COCKROACHES...YES COCKROACHES!!!!!! I RIGHT AWAY CALLED "RANDY" AND TOLD HIM THAT THERE ARE COCKROACHES ON THE STEPS RIGHT WHERE WERE PARKED AT..... MIND YOU THAT WE HAVE NOT EVEN GOT TO OUR ROOM, SO "RANDY" TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE NOT COCKROACHES, THAT THEY ARE WATER BUGS! THERE POOL HAD ZERO WATER IN IT. I AM NOT STUPID...... I RECORDED AND I TOOK PICTURES! I WILL TELL YOU THIS MUCH THEY WERE COCKROACHES! THERE WERE TONS OF COCKROACHES!!! PLEASE EVERYONE THIS PLACE IS GROSS AND SO I HAVE MY MOTHER WHICH HAS SKIN CANCER AND MY 7 YEAR OLD CHILD WITH ME........I PARKED IN LIGHT (SO WE WERE WELL LIT UP, TO MAKE SURE MY FAMILY IS SAFE) AND SLEPT IN OUR TRUCK! WE WOULD HAVE LEFT AND WENT BACK HOME WHICH IS ABOUT 3 HOURS AWAY, BUT WE HAD PLANS TO GO TO THE BIG SPLASH INDOOR ADVENTURE WATER PARK AND HAD ALREADY BOUGHT TICKETS TO GO AND TAKE MY DAUGHTER THERE. :) ALL I AM SAYING IS THAT THESE WERE IN FACT COCKROACHES AND THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM FOR ME AND A COCKROACH TO LIVE TOGETHER!! *I WILL NEVER EVER EVER GIVE ANY KIND OF RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE NASTY COCKROACH DISCUSSING PLACE THEY CALL A MOTEL. , I REASSURED RANDY THAT THEY ARE COCKROACHES AND I WAS PISSED OFF AND GROSSED OUT, WE HAVE NOT EVEN WENT O OUR ROOM YET....SO I GET THE KEY OPEN THE DOOR TO OUR ROOM AND I BET U A MILLION WENT EVERYWHERE INCLUDING UNDER MY FEET AT THE DOOR STEP WHERE I WAS STANDING AT! DISCUSSING IS ALL I AM SAYING, MAYBE THEY WOULD CLEAN IT UP AND MAKE IT LOO LIKE THE PICTURES ON THEIR WEBSITE!!!!!! CAUSE THOSE PICTURES MUST BE AT LEAST 10+ YEARS OLD, IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THOSE...

I have battled with myself for a few weeks now, trying to decide if i should leave this review. But I feel in my heart I should. Room was great and the price wasn't so bad considering we stayed in one of the new ones which were put together nicely. But the way the manager spoke to and treated her young employee broke my heart. From what I could gather, as I was just a few doors down, the girl had a drink dropped off and person immediately left. ( yes I witnessed that) The manager ripped into her and was screaming and slamming the door. She called her a cry baby for crying, which I can imagine her feelings were hurt. Pretty sure she fired her also because the lady left i believe. Based on that alone, I'm positive my finance and I won't be staying again. If she treats her employee like that I'm sure if she had a disagreement with a guest she would be the same way. The whole situation and how it was handled was pretty sickening in my opinion. And for the record, yes the employee was a bit loud, she was clearly upset, I would assume because of the managers approach and the slamming of the door and the tone, which was very hateful. I would be upset and loud if someone was treating me in such a manner also. Distasteful to act in such a way towards others and blame someone else for your behavior vs their response. That is...
