Golden Phoenix — Restaurant in West Bloomfield Township

Not impressed by this place at all. I have 2 situations that were not pleasant. I was closer to their area, so i figured I'd try them. I usually get take-out from another location closer to my house, but figured I'd expand. I ordered the same meal I usually get from my usual place. It was not good. It tasted very bland and unflavorful, and was oily instead of sauc-y. I also asked for extra spicy, which the other place does wonderfully, and the meal from Golden Phoenix could barely even be considered mild. I also ordered the egg drop soup which was a disgusting looking bright neon yellow with mushrooms in it. Again, comparing to my favorite place, my fav places soup looks like a normal colored egg and tastes delicious; GP was again bland to almost disgusting, so much so that I couldn't even finish it. This one is totally my fault but the way they handled it was rude and disrespectful. I called their number on the way home thinking it was my normal place. I don't know what I was thinking. It was completely my mistake. I showed up at my normal spot and when they didn't have my order I realized my error. Feeling horrible, I called Golden Phoenix to apologize, which many people won't do, maybe that was my mistake. When I called and told her about my mistake and apologized, she asked me to come pick it up anyway and that it's ready. Unfortunately, I was already at my normal place, and was kinda far from GP. I told her this and her response was "Well, then you need to block our number so you don't call us by accident again." But not in a matter of fact way, but a rude and demeaning way. I said "I will and again I'm sorry." and hung up. I didn't do it on purpose and I can completely understand her frustration. Prior to that moment, I was the a, but you don't treat customers (I can call myself that because I have purchased in the past and wasn't going to entirely write them off...until this happened) like that and therefore she then became the a. Anyway, they're just rude, and the food isn't worth putting up with their attitude, so I will never recommend or go there again. I can't name names but if you're looking for amazing chinese food, and friendliness, go down to Grand River and Orchard Lake...

Went there for dinner tonight with my grandma and 2 sons. We got there at 5:30pm and there was only one other couple at a table. We ordered an almond chicken dinner, ordered an extra egg roll, an extra soup, and dinner rolls. My one son eats very little and the other doesn't like Chinese food so he was just going to have a roll. The woman owner who served us was so rude! She kept asking me what else we wanted to order, crab ragoons, etc, I politely told her that they will not eat it and that what we ordered will be good for us. In the past I always came home with leftovers which I did not want to happen this evening (or I end up stuffing myself which I was also trying to avoid). I guess she didn't like that we didn't order more because after I told her that we were good she was just rude. She came back to the table a few times to see if we were all set while I was still trying to eat and asking if we need a to go box. I told her that I am not sure yet as I am still eating. I am not sure what the hurry was since there was only us and another table. In the times that she came to the table to try to hurry us out, she never once refilled our waters or even asked if we wanted some more water. When we were done she pushed the bill at us and didnt offer the ice cream that is included (meanwhile she did ask the table next to us). My son asked for the ice cream and she got it for him and tossed it at him. Food was ok but because of the service I will not be returning! There are many other great Chinese restaurants to go to in the area. It really is a shame as the old owners and wait staff were so...

DO NOT GO HERE!! ZERO STARS!!! TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! AVOID!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!

Went with my family on Christmas Day. 4pm. Restaurant was not busy, until a few hours later.

My mother was walking, with a cane to the table, since she just had foot surgery. TWO WAITRESSES AT THE SAME TIME tried to PUSH THROUGH my mom, instead of waiting for her to pass, or going an alternate way.

Waitress, and staff, IGNORED us for majority of the meal.

When 2 of our 3 meals came 1 1/2 HOUR later, the food was ICE COLD!!

When my father, who is elderly, diabetic/ ill, asked THE "MANAGER" to help us warm up the meals, SHE WAS OVER EMOTIONAL, AND SCREAMED AT HIM!!

There was another waitress at the table by to us who also YELLED at another elderly couple.

Took us almost 3 hrs to get our food, and check, from the staff. (Yes, we asked a few people for help) In the end, we packed up our meals and went home to eat them...

By the time I got home and ate, it was almost 8pm. Spent the time eating at home alone, when it should have been with my family!

We were also told by the waitress that the management takes the food cost out of their paycheck, if we asked for our check when they didn't serve our food, or ask to take it back. What BS!!

Very unprofessional restaurant!! We are NEVER...
