Mediocre in every definition of the word. The type of place that very obviously skates by on location and the weekend brunch ‘let’s get breakfast before x relative leaves’ crowd. Pretentious ‘we don’t have wifi, act like it’s 1995’ sign, despite having a wifi available sticker on the front door. Busser tells you to choose your seat, waitress gives you the cold shoulder because ‘we usually seat people’ after waiting 15 mins for a menu. I am not interested in being involved in catty workplace politics. Reeks of bad management. Coffee was good and it seems they offer real maple syrup instead of corn syrup. 18% dine-in surcharge on a $15 breakfast skillet. Pricing is reasonable for the time we are in and I’m glad that service staff gets a guaranteed tip, but the overall experience isn’t enough to make me come back. I’m 90% certain that the skillets are preprepped potatos with cheese under hot lamps until one is ordered and a fresh scrambled egg is thrown on top with nuked toppings. Absolutely nothing special. Understandable on a Saturday morning when the place has a line out the door and everyone is in the shit - completely unreasonable at 10am on a Tuesday with a staffed kitchen and maybe 10 people in the place. Won’t be going back.

Chilaquiles Not recommend, Maps menu shows $13, The menu inside shows $15. Since the chicken tamales were great, I was anxious to return to try Chilaquiles. Disappointed the food was not hot! Skillet was cold for safety? Asked for food to be hotter at least warmed. I removed the quacamole and sour cream to ensure it was not heated. It was tasty but lacked sauce, I asked for extra, however never used because the momentum to eat was lost. I ordered a togo. Bill arrived the extra sauce was $2 ea. Why, when they brought a cold dish. I requested a reason, I was not told of the extra expense was added for sides. the containers were not even full. The manager did remove the additional expense of the sides. So I took home dry chilaquiles. In addition a 20% Gratuity was Automatically included. I always leave a tip because its not the servers fault, however this can cause less patronage. I had to post this because I would have paid just under $25 for breakfast w/o a drink other than 💧 water. I stll paid the $18+ for a very disappointing experience. I would have given less stars however the server was nice.

I’ve dined here twice and on both occasions I had the same server Steven/Stephen not sure of the spelling, but what I’m sure of, he knows how to serve his customers. I was actually glad to know he was my server again. If you plan to visit ask for him, you’ll be glad you did. The first time I visited I ordered Waffles with strawberry toppings and my guests ordered The Traditional 2 by 2. Eggs, hash browns, meat, fruit, toast or pancakes, your choice. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The waffles were just the way I loved them and the reason why I returned. But, upon returning, I ordered pancakes instead. Now, our server warned me about the size and recommended The Traditional that offered 2 pancakes with sausage and eggs. I stuck to my plan and I should’ve listened. I had so much food. The pancakes were huge and delicious 😋. I ended up leaving some on my plate. Along with plenty of condiments with your meal, the place is very neat, clean, and welcoming. Upon returning I’ll try something different, but those Waffles keep calling my name.

I’m normally a pretty “lay back” kind of guy.

I live by the Credo of, “A Gentleman Never creates a Scene in a Public Place.

I’m Also one of those guys who lives by Steve Martin’s famous quote in My Blue Heaven…”It’s not Tipping I believe in, it’s OverTipping”

Yup, since Covid, in restaurants, I’m a regular 25% guy, but even before Covid, I usually did 20%-25%, and on exceptional Service…30%, and trust me, they Don’t Forget you when you return. Now we come to the Jagged Fork Breakfast/Lunch place in West Bloomfield, across from Tappers…

From the moment the guy meets you at the door, you know that this is a typical Pretentious West Bloomfield place, where they think that they’re “doing you a favor”.

The menu is “Okay” (Beverly Hills Grill is far better). Waitress is indifferent…no smile, no Hello. The Nose Ring didn't help!

After looking at the Menu, we order. I’ll have my Coffee now, and my companion wants her Tea when the food arrives.

The Food prep is very quick, surprisingly so…Kudos

Still, no Coffee for me & certainly no Tea.

After waiting & trying to get someone’s attention, I Finally have to get up & get someone’s attention.

Coffee okay, but Tea comes in a loose package & Decafe

Still can’t get anyone’s attention, so I actually Call the restaurant & explain that I’m a customer, Currently Dining Here, and need to speak to a Mngr.

After some “grief”, she agrees to get the Mngr & he comes over to our table.

I try to explain to him, what’s transpired & the utterly deplorable lack of Service from this waitress. I told him to explain to her, that she is Not in a Beauty Contest, but rather in the Service Business.

Now, she really gets Huffy (Attitude on display all over the place), and brings the Bill.

Meanwhile, I’m thinking about the Tip. I can’t remember over the last 50 years, not leaving one, but I’m tempted.

Billing comes & BOOM!!! There’s an 18% “Dining in” automatic gratuity added.

I tell the Mngr that I want it removed. “He says “NoCanDo” and I tell him that I’m NOT paying it, and he can Sue me for the $6.50!

I count out the Exact Change in Cash & Leave, with my usual parting line: Take a good look at my face, because it’s the Last Time you will ever...

Wish I could give zero stars as we received zero service. Took the family here for breakfast yesterday morning and even though the restaurant was only about 30% full and there was no line we were never seated. I walked in first with our newborn in one arm, toddler in the other, and our 8 year old so my hands were full and my shoulders were in extreme pain as I'd just left physical therapy. After standing there a few minutes a waitress says that another server would seat us. My wife comes in a few minutes later and we're still left standing there at the door as staff continues to walk right past us as if we were not even standing there refusing to even acknowledge us. There were plenty of open tables and many visible staff members moving about. My family had to move out of the way as other patrons left as they left us standing at the door and there was no place to sit or even stand to wait. Finally we'd had enough and as we're walking out the door a server finally comes as if to seat us and I asked him why we had to wait so long to be seated when clearly they weren't busy and he said "I was doing something else, I thought somebody else would get you". No apology about the wait whatsoever so we left. Went to the California Pizza Kitchen down the road, we were greeted within seconds of walking through the door and seated shortly thereafter. I frequented this place when it was Zoe's Pancake house and intended to make it a twice a week stop as our 8 year old is at Mathnasium a few doors down. So I called and spoke with a manager named Brandon to express how his staff made us feel unwelcome in their establishment. With the same dismissive attitude of his employees he gave a disingenuous apology and rushed off the phone. He made no effort to welcome us back or offer to make things right or earn our business. I called back and asked if by chance the owner was there and was told that he was one of the owners. Then someone named Shavro comes to the phone and says they're too busy to deal with this right now and says to call back after 2pm when their lunch rush was over. This business lacks good customer service and basic empathy we will...

CHECK YOUR BILLS GRATUITY IS ALREADY ADDED!!! I’m giving this restaurant 3 stars because I feel they are taking advantage of people. Today I took my lady friend to have lunch, and she cannot see very well so I asked her if I could look over the bill (I was a former server) to make sure there were no extra charges. At the bottom of the receipt it said to leave a 10% tip and the amount, 15% and the amount or 20% and the amount. My friend was about to leave 20% when I noticed one of the charges was gratuity, so a tip had been added to the bill automatically and the server never said anything. I actually asked the server why gratuity was added being we were only 2 people and she said they automatically do that, I said well I guess you can get very lucky by not mentioning it because you’ll get tipped twice, she laughed and said yeah. If I had not noticed the gratuity being added my friend would have left a $10 tip on a $24 bill. As I stated I was a server before, so I tip above 20% to be honest even if the service is meh I tip 20%. The staff should be telling their customers that tips are already added because the bill says at the bottom to leave a tip yet tips are added automatically. I also noticed a bill that was on the counter for the TOGO and they charge a 10% gratuity on carry out as well! I wonder if this is ever mentioned or if our server just didn’t want to mention it hoping she’d get a fat tip for meh service? My drink was completely empty I was never offered a refill. As you know Michigan is not opening up all tables so I’d like to use the excuse that maybe she’s busy, but as a server I never asked my guests if they needed refills they were just automatically brought them before their drink was emptied. I will not give her name just because I’m not that cruel but seriously she should have mentioned that gratuity was already added. We did leave $2 more so she still got a $6.80 tip on $24 so I as I said I never undertip. Just check your bill and make sure you aren’t being scammed into...
