Ha, it's Halloween and Panera is disguised as a customer friendly breakfast place! My online order for 7-7:15 AM pickup was not ready upon arrival @ 7AM. I was told I had to wait for catering to deliver the order (20 bagels, 20 pastries & a fruit bowl). At 7:15, I had to ask the manager to track down my order - apparently, it didn't seem odd to anyone that I'm standing there waiting for an order that, I was told by an employee, should have been delivered by 6:30 that morning! When that call was finally placed, we were told my order was at the catering location (Voice of America Park) and someone would bring it right over. I called VOA store and the catering manager gave me lots of excuses & said she would refund 'part of the payment.' Essentially, if my order had been there/ready, I would have rolled up to my work at 7:30 (per GPS). Instead, because of mistakes made by Panera catering, I did not get to work until 8:25. My event started at 8, it was a surprise/congratulatory party for a co-worker and I missed it. Further, per the catering manager, the problem was partially my fault because the online order was placed late the day before (ordered online around 3PM)! Here's a great question, If a 7AM pick-up isn't possible based on the time I placed the order, shouldn't the website block the option? Give me a break, Panera dropped the ball & ruined my event. Let my experience be your cautionary tale, if you have an important event and want to look professional, do not go to Panera. Fortunately, my manager knows I am not culpable in this ridiculousness. Unfortunately, Panera's catering manager seems to think I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust had a horrible experience in your drive through. I have never written a negative review of any restaurant, ever - but I guess thereās a first for everything. Working in retail management, in a very customer focused job, I expect to receive the same respect and customer experience I show my own customers. I understand any customer service job can be frustrating, but taking it out on the people who are keeping your business afloat is not good practice. āThe customer is not an interruption of our work, they are the purpose of itā.
I ordered two bagels. When I received them, I realized I hadnāt asked for them to be toasted. I said āIām sorry, Iād like them sliced and toasted.ā To the woman at the window, who was not the same woman who took my order. She said āwell, she sliced themā, to which I responded āIād like them toasted. Iām sorry, I wasnāt asked and I forgotā.
Moments later the woman, who I assume took my order, shoves my bagels at me while saying in a loud and fake nice voice āHERE YOU GO, NEXT TIME YOU NEED TO REMEMBER TO ASKā and slams the window. I sat there and waved at the people inside until she opened the window again - I told her she was very rude, the way she slammed her window - she denied her behavior, implied I was wrong, and told me she hopes I have a ābetter dayā in a sarcastic and snarky tone. All because I forgot to ask for a toasted bagel. This was my first encounter with this associate, and I will not risk having to meet with her bad attitude again. That being said, I will not be returning to this location, which is a shame, because I am a frequent customer, and stop by often on my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOh how I wish there was a rating lower than one star, as I would gladly give it to this particular location. I now drive three extra miles to avoid this place, I suggest you should to. I've never had unpleasant experiences within a Panera until this one. I usually order online as I have little time for lunch. Ordered a salad and a bagel. Simple.
When I got my food, there was no bagel, nor was there a fork for my salad. They said there was none of the bagel I ordered, yet I was still charged for it? No attempt to contact me to let me know or to change the order was made. So I got a different bagel, and still no fork. But they did give me two butter knifes to use as chopsticks for my salad. I had to get a fork myself which is no big deal, other than the fact that after asking for a fork i was given two knives as a joke.
I gave them a second chance and ordered my food from here one last time, and on my receipt there was a note saying utensils, looks like they remembered their mistake. My fork was stuffed, hidden inside of my bread. Needless to say if someone weren't paying attention, and wasn't already expecting something to be wrong with their food, they could have bit into the fork. I'm sure corporate will find this just as funny as the people that like to hide forks in bread, although I doubt that.
Unless they completely change their team working within this location it's not worth your time. I really do wish I could put a negative out of five rating, but I suppose a one out of five...
