I called earlier to request to stay on the second floor. They let me know they will be able to accommodate the request. I normally request second floor rooms in case the elevators take a long time I can use the staircase as I have a horrible case of arthritis. I found it first floor rooms are very nosy. I am almost 50 years old and I was told that I must sign some type of agreement saying that I wouldn't throw a party. I thought they only did that at the Motel 6 but to my surprise I was wrong. Ask them was this Marriott policy because I stay at another Marriott property right across the street the night before and I wasn't required to sign anything. Mind you the person in front of me was not required to sign anything as well. When I challenged the representative she told me if I I didn't plan on having a party I had nothing to worry about. None of this attitude was given to the guy that checked in before me. I also was asked was I a part of a wedding party . I let the representative know that I was there working and I had no clue what she was talking about. I guess there was another event going on that weekend that I had nothing to do with and I was associated with it . That's the only thing I can think of but regardless while asking me if you're going to still make me sign the party waiver. I went ahead and signed it because I was actually in town working and I just didn't have time for the little games. After I got my keys I waited close by and watched the next three people check in none of which "looked" like me... and none of which were required to sign the party waiver. I was very offended that I was made to sign this because I guess I just look like I'm going to throw a party. I own an extremely large Healthcare company in Atlanta and I am a titanium elite customers so when any of my staff travel we always stay with Marriott. I definitely won't stay at this location anymore and I'm talking to a Hilton representative about setting account up for myself and my company on tuesday. And maybe they will appreciate our business a little more and give us a little bit...
Read moreRead full review, especially if you're traveling as a family - Ok, seriously, this is one of the better hotels I've stayed at - the entire staff is fantastic, they were prompt with everything and the housekeepers went out of their way to make sure that we were taken care of. The pool area is also well maintained and the rooms themselves are extremely clean and spacious. We also loved the breakfast, however I don't believe it is complimentary (we were able to secure it as part of a room block) but if you spring for it you won't be disappointed. My only issue I had with this hotel was, believe it or not, the toilets. We stayed three nights for a baseball tournament and we had multiple issues with the toilets clogging, even with just toilet paper. The first morning my son used the bathroom in our room and it ended up clogged and while we were waiting for a plunger, I took my daughter downstairs to use the lobby bathroom and that one was already clogged up before we had a chance to use it. Luckily the housekeepers had opened up all the vacant rooms on our floor so we popped in one of those as we had an emergency at this point before heading back to our room to have a family discussion about the situation. Our new rule the rest of the stay was it was one flush per wipe, lol! Once we figure that out it was great. I would absolutely stay again in light of the toilets.
Adding in an edit: My only other suggestion would be to add another washer & dryer for guest use. We needed to wash uniforms for our boys to play in (temperatures during our stay was in the 90's with high humidity so it was absolutely necessary for a group of teenage boys) and I had to wait until 2am to finally get to the washer without a line. We got it done but there were so many other baseball teams there plus other sports tournaments it would be extremely beneficial seeing as those were the guests trying to use...
Read moreThis was a lovely hotel. We got checked in quickly, our room was very clean and the bed was super-comfy. There was a huge, gorgeous shower with a nice sliding door to get in and out, the shower head was huge and had great water pressure. I like that the TV was a smart TV so I could sign into my Netflix account and watch shows I had saved on my list or was in the process of watching. My one complaint, and it's not a HUGE deal but still annoying, is that housekeeping never showed up on Saturday. We came back early while they were in the process of cleaning rooms so skipped ours since they saw us come in (we didn't have the tag on the door) and I'm guessing that they just didn't want to disturb us. The issue is that they never tried coming back or knocking to see if we needed anything. And since they didn't come during their normal rounds, we didn't get a refill on coffee pods and creamer either so that meant no coffee the next morning. That's a VERY minor complaint, but I do enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. So in order to get towels to shower the next morning, I had to call the front desk. I asked for towels and more soap/shampoo but the guys that came brought us only towels. I understand mistakes happen, maybe the housekeepers just forgot since there's a lot of rooms in this hotel, but it was still pretty annoying. Mistakes happen and this doesn't make me say I'll never stay at a Marriott or anything ever again or anything. I would still recommend this hotel 100%. It's clean, the staff is friendly and it's not far from Cincinnati or King's Island, so it's a...
