My husband and I had previously participated in a VR game at a different location and were super excited to do it again in Cincinnati. Our first experience was excellent, but this time was phenomenal. Our game master really took our experience to the next level. We had two games picked out on the website, but he talked us into different games that we really enjoyed! We did Threat Lethal (Warhammer) and Outbreak (zombies). The immersive experience is one of a kind. When in game, you forget that you are actually in a giant room because it feels like you are really fighting zombies or aliens. My husband is afraid of heights and there was one point where we had to walk on ventilation to the top of a building and the experience was triggering for his fear of heights, but the game master helped him through it. The Warhammer game that we played was intense and required teammate revivals and had friendly fire. It was much more difficult than the Outbreak game, but again our game master really helped us through by providing tips and tricks. There are really cool special weapons that show up in the game, like a grenade launcher or a mini gun that provide nice variety. There really is no danger of running into physical walls or players because they give you a warning in game. I was able to full out sprint through the arena with no hesitation. I really wish there was one of these closer to our hometown. We would be frequent flyers for sure! Anybody who remotely likes video games has to check...
Read moreTL;DR; Although expensive, it was worth it at least once and what VR was meant to feel like. I played Far Cry and it was great.
I got a flat tire on the way to the facility and missed my appointment. The employees were very understanding and willing to help me out. They offered to let us reschedule or come in at a later time the same day.
The experience itself was amazing. It is how I always believed VR should be instead of how at home VR works. You get a fair amount of apce to move around, and you are able to dodge and crouch and hide behind walls just as you would in real life. As their name suggests, there is no noticeable latency between your movements in real life and the game. I experience slight to moderate motion sickness using PS VR in games where your character can move freely. I had no motion sickness when playing. Because I am so used to playing at home VR, I had to keep reminding myself that I was free to move around and not stuck in one spot. When you see the initial room you will be playing in, you will think it is a bit small, but the games do such a good job at directing your movement that you don't even notice that they are just circling you...
Read moreWhat a fun experience! I hosted a team event for 20 people recently and everyone had a blast. Todd was very deliberate in explaining the experience, what to expect and more importantly , how to have fun. Even people who hadn't picked up a games console in their life throughly enjoyed the VR world. We worked with Nicole on getting the space rented out with great options for group rates. The space was a great size for ordering in catering and entertaining outside the VR (N64, Switch consoles etc).
My only recommendation for group event improvement would be to add ambient music in the waiting area. For group events with large numbers, some background music would go along way in keeping the vibe up for gamers waiting for their turn in the VR.
All in all - fantastic and unique experience with knowledgeable game masters. No glitches in headsets, game lagging or motion sickness problems. Todd mentioned some exciting games will be added in the near future - I will be spreading the word about Zero...
