Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in West Chester Township

Following an incoming thunderstorm, I decided to check their closing time and make the drive over. Upon pulling in to the store I noticed it was dark. I tried the door and it was locked. I witnessed some lights on inside and people moving about. I checked the time and their hours on the door, and they were closed a good 30min prior to their operating hours. This was disheartening and I took it as a sign that another penn station was nearby. I called the other store and they answered. The associate invited me right over.

When operating a store, being a leader and manager, there comes a responsibility that sometimes requires self sacrifice. It's a duty to represent your location with your utmost potential. I started pondering maybe it was an emergency, possibly an issue and they had to close early. I decided to give it another shot on a separate day. I was completely shocked to see the exact same situation thus sealing their fate at losing "just another customer". If I had employees doing this at my location, I'd put a stop to it at an instant! This will slowly destroy your image and future growth. Nowadays growth is a necessity...

This seems to be an ongoing issue for this location. I order from here often and never have an issue with the food. However ordering from this place can be a nightmare multiple times this has happened to me you get placed on hold and forgotten about but they leave the phone off the hook and the usual conversation I hear is horseplay or someone flirting. So this will go on for roughly ten minutes or so. Then you hang up the phone call back hoping it will get their attention but then you realize they had you on hold with the phone off the hook and their still completely unaware that you were on the phone so it doesn't go through. Just be warned this happens often.

This place as far as customer service is horrid waited on the phone for 10 minutes. The worker was rude and hung up on me after I asked him to repeat the order. Called in spoke to the manager he made excuses for the employee had to fix the order with the manager and correct the name on the order. My wife gets there to pick up the food. food is jacked up not correct have to wait another 20...

The layout leaves a bit to be desired but that's not the fault of the folks who work there. The food is awesome and the service is ok.

The only feedback I have is if you go in as far as a half hour away from closing, they've already started closing up shop, so you can't eat inside. I was planning on eating in with my granddaughter within the 30mins it was still open. Instead, we had to take it to go. While I was waiting for our food, another gentleman came in and asked if he was still able to order. There was still a good 25mins until close at this point. But from the interaction I saw, it seemed like they were doing him a favor by taking his order at that time.

I dont know if that is a requirement by the franchise owners? If it is, I would say that a one off of staying open an extra 5mins every now and again, and maybe re-wiping a table down shouldn't be that big of a deal. Idk, maybe the employees had something going on that particular night...
