This is the first time I got stiff by the young man that was serving the carnitas, he asked me what was I going to order, he was very nice and polite, I told him I wanted a pound of regular chicharrón (pork crackling) He went ahead and put the chicharrón inside a brown paper bag (keep in mind that you can not see what pieces he is picking for you because the chicharrón is on the other side of the counter) then he asked me if there was something else I needed, I told him that's all. Knowing from previous times that the quality of their chicharrón is good, I didn't bother to check. When I got home and gave the bag of chicharrón to my wife and she opened the bag...... She said to my "what the hell is this???? Showing me the biggest piece of the chicharrón, I said oh no, this guy gave me a crappy chicharrón that was incorrectly fried. I'm not an expert but I think the lard was either too hot or to cold and that is the result of a bad chicharrón. If I was the owner, I wouldn't give this crappy to my customers, I would have cut my losses and probably cooked it in salsa Verde, otherwise you'll end up losing credibility from your customers and lose their trust. Now I don't know if I would go back to that place to...

This is hands down my FAVORITE taco place in America, and a strong top contender even on the international scale. This is a place that is open from 5 AM to 5 PM, except they close when they sell out. This happens often during the weekend, especially in the summertime, so the best bet is to go in the morning hours or latest by 1 PM. They do carnitas tacos, and you can order the different parts by the pound. The stomach is my personal favorite! There is a private parking lot with a man who will help you get in and out of the traffic on 18th st. There is indoor seating; however, it does get hot and busy in the summertime, which can be hard for some people. You can also order as takeout, which is convenient. They offer corn tortillas, amazing rice, cilantro, onions, pickled carrots & jalapeño, and different salsas on the side. The meat is tender and flavorful regardless of cut. Highly recommend for Carnita’s Fans. They can speak English, so ordering should not be a problem. It’s also pretty affordable in my opinion too. A...

GOOD GRAVY. This place was delicious. A local friend explained how to order here, as we were foreigners. We were the only white people in the restaurant - which was perfect for us! We wanted AUTHENTIC Hispanic food, and we found it! There are two ways to eat:

  1. To go. You must squeeze through the two lines ordering within the restaurant. These are the same lines you need to be in to order to go.
  2. In restaurant. You must squeeze past the "to go" lines to get into the restaurant. You are brought a tray with several toppings to add to your carnitas. The only decision is which cut and kind of meat do you want? Portions are family sized, and can be shared with up to 6 people. My bride and I didn't know better, so we each ordered different meat. I had beef, and she had pork. My beef was OFF THE CHAIN. Her pork was delicious, but I...
