If you’re searching for comfort food that warms the soul and delights the taste buds, look no further than the one and only Chef Daddy’s. This gem of a soul food restaurant offers an authentic taste of the South, with every dish crafted with love and attention to detail.

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. The rich aromas of slow-cooked collard greens, fried chicken with a perfect golden crust, and cornbread that melts in your mouth instantly make you feel at ease.

The menu is a celebration of tradition, featuring classic dishes like creamy mac and cheese, savory smothered pork chops, potato salad that bursts with vibrant, zesty flavors from the very first bite, and candied yams that strike the perfect balance between sweet and buttery. Let’s not forget the desserts – If you’re on a quest for the ultimate indulgence, look no further than a slice of caramel cake that promises to satisfy every sweet craving. This dessert is more than just a cake—it’s a masterpiece of flavors and textures that come together in perfect harmony.

What sets Chef Daddy’s apart is the genuine care that goes into each meal. You can taste the passion in every bite, and it’s clear that this restaurant is more than just a business – it’s a labor of love. Whether you’re coming in for a hearty lunch, a family dinner, or a quick bite of soul food goodness, you’ll leave with a full belly and a happy heart.

In a world where soul food can often be commercialized or watered down, Chef Daddy’s stands out as a true beacon of authenticity. This is soul food done right, and it’s an experience you won’t...

I'm a major support for Bob's and the local gem has a piece of my heart... my babies love the mac & cheese and I don't eat meat so I decided to purchase 2 veggie plates last week, 1 with 2 sides of mac for my daughters. The cashier was very rude when telling me I can't get that and I have to get different items, so I asked is that on the menu, it wasn't and she was not nice about it so I left. My girls, really wanted the food so I waltz back into the restaurant for the same request asking for the manager and he told me I could get it I'd just have to pay more, I asked for the policy and looked down and there were some printed at the register and asked why was it extra he said bc he doesn't allow it. Ok, im.not trying to be a bug but since my daughters are looking forward to receiving this food I want to get it but now on the principal of this I was disappointed. I never have order double sides and have been frequently visit and even promoting (which won't stop bc I strongly support bobs) but sometimes the customer service just sucks, but we have to crawl before we walk, hopefully they was just in a funky mood and took it out on me. I'm forgiving but I don't know the next time I'll revisit. For all the Great experiences that I have just been a consumer who paid for her food and left the time when they throw me a wild card I'm definitely...

Visiting Chicago from Phoenix Arizona and the minute we landed all we heard was Chef Daddys. Everybody I asked said I have to eat at Chef Daddys, so I did. First of all the parking lol I have spent 20 finding a place to park everywhere I go except Chef Daddys, quick and easy parking, easy to find, and actually the door was literally open for me to just walk right on in. Ok now the people/service. I was greeting as soon as I walked in and was asked if I wanted a fried meat so she could get it started before I even order. That’s efficient, fresh, fast service. The food was bomb as hell, I had chitterlings with about 5 sides, everything was really good, I also got Carmel cake but I haven’t tried it yet. I spent $50 and I got basically two meals. I’m definitely going back before I go home. Now the negative, there was a worker that came out to cool off that was touching all over her face and the corners of her eyes and she went back in to make food, I stopped someone and asked them to ask her to wash her hands, they did and she did with no problem. That made me look to see who was wearing gloves and I didn’t see anyone wearing them. I’d like to see gloved hands preparing my food but other than that I love the place. 4 out of 5, get some gloves and...

The place was OK not great, just OK! You're not getting quality food as you think you're getting. Mash potatoes are instant boxes, not made home made or from scratch. Just a glop of mush! I dinner recommend you drop what you're doing to drop by. You're not getting everything advertised, and it's been sitting out all day. Their yams are from a can you can see that no love was put into the food. Maybe food quality has gone down since the owners split. So it's no longer a black pen business. It's now just a Hispanic woman who is trying to save what her and her husband started. Quality was not that great but happy to have try it to support local business. Your better off driving to Madison and eat at Mac Authers for a bit of more better soul food.

My first time coming her. I ordered the catfish dinner, the catfish was good, but them sides are horrible. The dressing was disgusting, it was SOUR, had to throw it away. The potato salad was like soup, an over powering garlic taste, that also hit the trash. The peach cobbler's crust was so hard, and overly sweet. The beef short ribs had good flavor, but it was tuff. liked the carmal cake. The greens had an over powering garlic taste, what's with the cabbage & greens mix? The Mc and cheese was not cooked through I had unmelted cheese in the middle. The cornish hen... well as you can see from the picture no flavor, and could of been cook longer. Sadly had to throw it away. Corn bread was good tho. Money down the drain.

The food here is so good! It was my first time going and I’ll be back to try everything on the menu. I spent less than $10 for the meatloaf, collard and cabbage greens, Mac n cheese & a pop. And I the meal came with cornbread (which was big and perfect). -I got the meatloaf because I haven’t had some in so long and wasn’t disappointed. It looked like a big meatball that was very juicy. The sauce had a slightly sweet taste, I got a spoon to make sure I got as much of it with every bite. -The greens had an unexpected little spicy kick and were so tasty! I wish I got some to go. -The Mac n cheese was so soft and cheesy!
