Tonight was by far the worse experience I encountered with this restaurant. Not only was I treated poorly, the customer service that was provided was mind boggling. I placed my order at 9:25 pm, 3 orders of 6 wings, 1 order of 3 wings and 1 order of fries. I paid for my order at 9:28pm. Customers continue to arrive and place orders and the male employee continue to take their orders. At 9:45 the male employee called an order similar to mines but was placed at 9:40pm by another customer. I then ask the employee any update on my order, he respond by saying we're getting ready to close you have to wait. At this point Im confused because I placed my order and other customers are receiving larger orders who came after me. I waited another five minutes and try to speak with the employee but he ignores me. I think went over to get another employee attention to attempt a refund and now he communicates to her she can get a refund but her order is over there. So now I'm upset because my order was already ready, I'm not sure for how long but placed to the side. I understand the last minute rush durning the end of the day, mind you I've never experienced this before so I tried my best to be understanding and patient but the way I was treated as a customer for over 20 years was unfair. I proceeded to explain to the female employee how long I was waiting and the customer service the male employee provided to me was upsetting and yes I would like a refund. She apologized and asked if I would still like the food. I told her if it is truly ready yes but I'm not waiting another minute. The male employee laughs as I am in front of the counter and turn to the female employee saying oh she want her food now not the refund. If that's the way you train your employees to treat customers then I understand why your franchise cannot expand. Because you need your customers. But you lost...
Read moreThis place have you standing for hours sweating like a pig with no fans or ac waiting on food you could have ordered over the phone if they would ever answer!! I came in for a slab and was told they were out and the ones on the grill would be ready at 7:30pm and to come back.. I Asked a male employee if I could pay in advance and pick it up when I come back. He told me no. I came back at 8 and was told they just sold the last slab😔 The manager asked why i didn't just pay for an order before i left I advised her what I had tried to and pointed out her employee who lied and said I and she didnt seem pleased!!! The customers inside complain about the long wait times after placing orders over the phone still waiting over 30min! The disrespect to customers by not addressing complaints, ignoring people, lieing to avoid working, hanging up on customers, unplugging or refusing to answer the phone and wonder why people will stop patronizing their business! Too cheap to give your customers air and expect them to melt to death while begging to pay you for food when there are many other options for restaurants! The food is not as good as it once was on top of poor customer service, I don't see you in business much longer! Customers are the reason you get a paycheck! Without them no revenue flows thru your business #BusinessClosed!!! You running...
Read moreDisappointed and Underwhelmed: A Far Cry from the Coleman's I Remember. I recently ordered the rib tips and hot links from Coleman's—what used to be a trusted name in Chicago barbecue. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing.
The hot links were incredibly tough—honestly, it felt like biting into a bowl of Cap’n Crunch. Completely overcooked and difficult to chew. As for the rib tips, they were dry and lacked the smoky, saucy flavor that once made Coleman's a go-to spot. The worst part? There was no sauce at all—just dry, flavorless meat. On top of that, the fries were soaked in grease, making the entire meal feel heavy and unappetizing.
Back in the day, I remember spots like Daisy’s and Fern Dean’s serving up top-tier BBQ. Coleman's was once in that league, maybe even a close second. But what I experienced on this recent visit puts them at the bottom of the list. This was, without question, one of the worst rib tip and hot link meals I’ve ever had.
If this is Coleman's new standard, they’ve lost their edge. As someone who grew up on real Chicago BBQ and now lives in Georgia—where we take barbecue seriously—this was unacceptable. Step it up...
