D'Nuez - Mexican Fusion Restaurant - Pilsen — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

The food was good but We had the worst service here. We arrived at around 1130 and were pretty promptly greeted and sat. It was still pretty empty so it was perfect because we had somewhere to be at 1. We ordered our food immediately when the waitress came and before our joiners arrived because we were on a time limit and knew we would have to leave before our joiners. Our drinks took 35 minutes to get to us. Every table around us began getting sat (after we ordered our food) and they all got their food before us. By the 45 minute mark we ask the waitress about our food and she tells us “well it’s busy.” After we remind her that we ordered promptly because we needed to leave soon she went to check and brought out our late joiners food only. Then ask again and mention that even the table next to us who ordered a well done burger got their food before ours she asks us to repeat what we ordered. Then went and brought out cold crepes. We have had these crepes before and know the temperature they should be and the waitress tells us the cook said he just cooked them so they can’t be cold. Then finally our food arrives we ask for boxes and our other joiners food finally arrives. They brought her the wrong item. At this point we ask a different waitress for a manager and they tell us there is no mananger but she can help us. She was aware we received the wrong item. We explained all the problems we had and they finally agree to take the crepes back and off our check and They bring our friend her correct Food item. We had to go to the front to ask for a cup for our juice (that we had already asked for before). We were there over an hour and didn’t even get to eat our food there. They then added gratuity to the check which normally wouldn’t matter at any time to us but when you give horrible service, don’t have managers present and handle it they way you did and still expect to get your regular gratuity, it’s the cherry on top. Never returning.

Update: After speaking to some friends about our experience, they shared similar experiences and said that’s why they don’t go back either so now I know our situation wasn’t a one...

This is the second time I visited this establishment. The first time, the service was not the best, but I assumed it was because they were busy. The food was mediocre, plus they messed up my partner’s order. We carried on with eating as he didn’t care too much, and because of the high volume they were experiencing we didn’t want to wait for them to remake the order. Today was the second time we visited. If the first experience was bad today was even worse. I called for a table, the host told me they had own availability. Upon arrival the host informed my partner and I it was a 30 min wait. We were seated upstairs. Waited an additional 15 minutes for a server. When the server finally came to the table she apologized for the wait and I quote “ No one told me I had a table “. I saw her look in our direction multiple times before approaching the table so I found that strange. This is only the beginning. When we ordered I asked for a sauce to be put on the side and she said “ no the cooks won’t do that “ when I asked why she said because it’s the way it comes, so I ordered the item any way. She brought my coffee out in a paper cup. I’m sorry, if I am paying for an experience I should not feel like I’m at someone’s back yard barbecue. The food was fine, nothing spectacular for pancakes. My partner ordered a side of eggs. The host brought up our food, and my partner informed her that he ordered a side. With out hesitation she shook her head no and said “ no you didn’t “. At this point I was starting to get annoyed with the service so I simply told her to bring over the server so we could resolve this issue. The host started to back track and informed us she was going to go check. She brought the eggs up. We wrapped up our meals and left. We were at this establishment for no more than an hour. Within that hour we had so many unpleasant experiences from the scent walking in to the restaurant to the service provided. I would not recommend this location to any one in my circle.
