Hello!! Its your local Chicogoan Cook here again. Ive seen this place while traveling on the bus route 21. As well as seen it pop up on my google feed. So i too was curious. I read a few older reviews and knew the food might be okay enough to be considered "grub food". However, i was curious. On to the review. Atmosphere: 3/5 This seems to have been past its prime and needs better accomodations for its over all atmosphere. With that said it does do well for what it has. Free parking, which the lot is a bit rough and needs a smooth over. So watch for that. Food: 3/5 almost neeeds to be a 2/5. But i disnt take off for the coffee as thats not my specialty. I did order a Chorizo Breakfast Burrito. It was decent, yet seriously lacked flavor. The ingredients did not blend well, which did not somewhat make up for the lack of seasoning. Though i was seriously disappointed that for a Mexican restaurant they did not use any cilantro or even QuesoFresco as cheese, which i was limited to American, Mozzerala, and a third choice which ive forgotten about already ((My apologies on that.)) As i stated it could have been better over all. It seemed the cook prepared everything in a hurry. As even the tortilla was somewhat lacking and was crispy in certain areas and not others. As i dined in, they did give me chips and salsa. The salsa was actually good and i used this on my breakfast burrito. Though the tortilla chips were made in older oil and didnt have a fresh taste. So i recommend that if you do get this to add a bit of salt. It will help on the flavor. The salsa was a bit runnier than i like but thats okay as everyone makes it different. The coffee: They mentioned they would make the coffee fresh. However there was a bit of strangeness to the coffee. Either a brand im not familiar with or it had cinnamon in the grounds. As i felt it had a back end taste of cinnamon to it. As i stated i wasnt familiar with the coffee. And the coffee flavor was not over all pleasant to me. But ill chalk this one down to personal taste and wont count off for the flavor of thw coffee. ((Maybe someone else who is a coffee enthusiast could confirm this??)) SIDE NOTE: They had ran out of cholulu and didnt have any and gave me tobasco. Service: The lady that took my order was very nice and accomodating. Though she felt bad they had ran out of Cholulu sauce. Which as a restaurant this should NOT happen. Wither way the lady was nice about it. Pricing: Burrito: 9.95 Coffee: 2.95 Total with tax 14.94 Total with tip: 18.00

I've always been curious about this place since I started coming into the area. Some days it looks pretty empty other days it is packed. Today it is one of the former. Coming in here you're greeted by the cashier. David's grill makes good use of the space... accomodating plenty of seating without sacrificing floor space. It is almost exclusively booths aside from the high chairs so prepare to enjoy your food with strangers. They have a wide selection on the menu arranging from traditional Mexican dishes to American cuisine and even Mediterranean food. The Mediterranean steak intrigued me even though the $14.99 price tag hints at the quality. As with every Mexican restaurant they welcome you with chips and salsa. The salsa itself is good, but the homemade chips are horrendous (most likely fried in very old oil.) The steak was ready in about 10 minutes. It comes with fries caramelized onions, garlic bread and a salad. The portions are great so you won't have to worry about leaving hungry at David's grill. There's a lack of an even crust on the steak and you can tell they cooked it as of it were fajita strips (flipping it a bunch of times, probably not searing it, etc.) which is why it is unevenly cooked. The steak isn't evenly seasoned either, with some parts having too much seasoning while others have too little.

Stumbled across this restaurant for breakfast as everywhere we had gone was extremely packed and long waits. Place was full but we managed to get a table since we are a family of 6. The kids and My wife and I absolutely loved the food. The kids had pancakes and sausage. Had to order a second order of pancakes since they wanted more. We had eggs and ham as well as eggs with sausage and was great. No excess grease on any of the food. Ice and crispy hashbrowns. I recommend giving this place a look whenever your in the neighborhood looking for a bite to eat. They have a great menu with lots of options for whatever you maybe craving!

I ordered the BLT, cashier asked if I wanted rye or wheat. I asked if I can get white, she said said yes....i received Rye 🙆‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ You know what your getting when you go here. Typical diner but the cashier was horrrrible. Very dismissive and arrogant. Rolled her eyes when I asked what kind of soup they had. After I left, i called only because my order was wrong and asked to speak to a manager or someone in charge because I know the cashier was answering the phone. She said, Manager was unavailable. I asked if I could speak to someone in charge, she said no, and then said no one is in charge. She said I can leave a message. I proceeded to give her my name and number, when the cashier interrupted me by saying, that I couldn't leave my number. She then said that the Manager would NOT call me back, and I could not leave my number. I was so confused..... 😕 My order was all wrong, but the food was decent. The thing that left a sour taste in my mouth was how bad this cashier was for this small local business. If the owner is reading this, do yourself a favor and get rid of...
