You can really taste the love and passion and craftsmanship that went into my entire meal. The horchata was a little sweet, but somehow tasted fresher than any other horchata I’ve had in my life. The salsas were complex instead of just spicy - both red and green were delicious. The tacos come two to an order for $9, and are worth every penny. The homemade tortillas were super pillowy and fresh. You could tell the steak was a good cut of meat, so soft and no chewiness. The fried onion crisps were a nice contrast to the fresh onions. We also had the al pastor tacos, and the flavor was developed and complex - this tasted like a 24 hr sauce versus a 2 hr sauce - just delicious! I didn’t think we’d be full after just the order of tacos, but we were quite full. We also ordered the chicken mula, which we actually couldn’t finish because we were both full, but don’t sleep on the mula. The fried cheese on the inside really makes this dish phenomenal - I’ve never had a mula before, but it’s like the cheese was pan fried outside the quesadilla then flipped inside where the rest of the cooked ingredients were added. Highly recommended. They have barbacoa ramen on their brunch menu that I’m super intrigued by - I’ll be...
Read more$4.00 tacos. These tacos are AMAZING! Like Rick bailes level flavor but from a local Latina mom owned restaurant. I loved the restaurant that was here before and was really suspect of this place because it looks super gentrified. BUT this place is the real deal, fresh home made tortillas and fresh chips that are served still warm. The tacos are AMAZING, I’ve started craving them a lot. The atmosphere is kinda off putting, the walls are this really sterile white which makes it look like a restaurant not intended for locals. I also think it’s kinda shady that they don’t post their prices ANYWHERE. But just so everyone knows, the meat tacos are $4 and the nopal is 3.50 each. Not bad imo. And for handmade fresh tortillas and amazing quality meat that’s an amazing price imo.
I hope this place makes it because the chefs are very talented and have great quality. I think some cream colored paint and some less trend oriented decor as well as prices would be more inviting to the community. The owner is so sweet and has a great thing going. Truly a restaurant that would stack up against 5 rabanitos...
Read moreI don’t normally write reviews but I had the opportunity to check this place out over the weekend and was so impressed with the flavor and quality of the food, I had to help spread the word. I’d call it elevated Mexican with a twist. The twist being a delicious barbacoa ramen which I’ve never seen before but is a must try. I always have to try the carne asada tacos at a new spot and they were fantastic. The carne asada itself was the most tender I’ve ever had and was seasoned perfectly. The tomatillo salsa was excellent with a perfect amount of kick to it. The best part might have been the homemade blue masa tortillas which were made that day. This place is not real close to where I live but I will definitely be back...
