Absolutely love this place! I discovered it by accident, just passing by. I saw a line of people waiting and decided to try a lemonade too. And I truly loved what I got! The kiosk offers a lot of different flavors of iced lemonade. It was hard to pick one, but I finally ordered a watermelon lemonade. It was absolutely delicious! I believe they use actual watermelon chunks and fresh watermelon juice mixed with the frozen lemonade. By the way, there are small pieces of lemon in the lemonade too. A few days later, I came back to this place with my friend. I ordered the watermelon lemonade again, and my friend picked the Pina Colada flavor. He absolutely loved it. I tried a little bit of his lemonade, and I loved it too. I believe I could see little coconut chunks in his lemonade. There are a few different sizes to order, from a small one which costs $4, to an X-Large one which costs $8. They also have really big containers, like a full gallon for $26, which is great if you need it for a big group of people. Another great thing about this place is that it’s possible to mix a few flavors in one order, for example, make it 50/50 with no extra charge. Many people used this option as I could see. Like I already mentioned, this place was busy every single time I visited. And I understand why, because its concept is really cool, and the product is very delicious. Especially, it is nice to have this Italian lemonade during the hot summertime in Chicago! Oh, I also have to mention that the staff who work in this place are very sweet and friendly, especially the girls. Go and try this place, you will...

It has finally arrived, the moment i've been waiting for since the first time i hard about this place. Somehow it never seems to work out or to be the right time for me. It’s definitely today, today was was the perfect time this! everyone i talked to and asked for the best Italian ice they always say Mario's Italian Lemonade, located in little Italy. I once saw a man bringing to a party buckets of this Italian ice. I never understand the hype, until today. It was a beautiful chilly evening in Chicago. I was craving something sweet to end this lovely day we had and I knew we were close by to one of Chicago wonders. Upon our arrival we were greeted with so much kind and love. They asked me what i wanted but so much to choose from They have all kinds of flavors watermelon, raspberries, banana, cherry... but just like you guys know me, I order their signature frozen dessert. The lemonade Italian Ice and let me tell you, it was a home run. The first bite of the fluffy and soft lemon flavor ice, melted on my mouth covering all my taste buds with astonishment and mesmerizing thoughts making me happy with each sip. Why does it felt like they brought the ice from the top of Königspitze mountain in Italy. If you are a local or a tourist and you are looking for something new I would truly recommend it and i promise you won’t be disappointed! This is one of our must have summer time treats! No wonder this place is so iconic for the...

1 star for a poor customer experience. Mario's Italian ice has been a Southside Chicago staple, and for good reason. Their ice is delicious, made with fresh fruit and real sugar. But today was not the way it used to be.

First of all, they wouldn't let us try a sample of the chocolate flavor. It's an uncommon flavor, so a friend wanted to make sure they were going to like it before committing to buying a whole cup. The worker told me that they don't give out samples of any of the flavors, which I thought was a little strange.

Secondly, there were bees everywhere. I mean, literally everywhere. They were buzzing around the ice, the workers, and the customers. It was actually kind of dangerous, and we were worried about getting stung due to allergies. I asked the workers how they felt about the bees, but they just shrugged and said that they were used to it.

Finally, they gave me the wrong size cup. I paid for a large, but they gave me a medium.

Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience at Mario's Italian ice. The ice is still good, but the service and the atmosphere have really gone downhill. If you're looking for a delicious Italian ice, I would recommend going to two locations conveniently near the highway in Bridgeport.

But if you do decide to go to Mario's, be prepared for a swarm of bees and a rude staff. And don't even ask for a sample like every other ice cream/Italian ice shop allows. That is...

If summer had a flavor, it would undoubtedly be Mario's Italian Lemonade on Taylor Street! Picture this: a tiny stand bursting with colors and flavors, tucked away in Chicago's own slice of Italy. From the moment you spot the cheerful stand, you know you’re in for a treat. Though the line may appear daunting, it moves quickly. While you wait, you can practice your Italian hand gestures or dream up your own personal flavor combinations. Among all the flavors, the watermelon stands out as exceptionally flavorful and refreshing. It surprises with its vibrant and natural taste. It's a recommended choice for anyone looking to indulge in a refreshing treat that celebrates the natural flavors of seasonal fruit. Another intriguing option is the POG (Passion, Orange, Guava), which offers a sweeter alternative. This blend may initially require some adjustment for those accustomed to more traditional lemonades, but it promises a unique and rewarding taste experience. The combination creates a harmonious balance of sweetness and tropical fruit flavors. When it comes to portion size, the small serving at Mario's was just right for us. Despite its modest appearance, each sip packed a punch of flavor, leaving us perfectly satisfied without overwhelming our taste buds. Remember, Mario's is a seasonal delight, so slap on your shades, grab your pals, and make it a lemony summer escapade.
