New China — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

Husband and I had a strong craving for Egg Rolls so I said Hey I've got an Amazon Promo Code let's use that and get take out! We ordered the Appetizer Combo for 2 and the Kung Pao Chicken through Amazon Restaurants. (Great new Amazon feature they are really trying to get into everything, eh?) Well we get our food super fast and its hot and looks good but the rice was missing. I quickly double check the menu I ordered from to make sure I didn't miss some fine print about what was included (i'm a sleep deprived new mama) I see that I did not it clearly states "served with steamed rice" on the menu (i took a screenshot too) I call up the restaurant and politely ask them to send us some rice to go with the Kung Pao. The woman at the restaurant tells me, "Amazon orders don't come with rice." (In my head I'm like screeech say whaatt? First what chinese food does not come with rice and why are Amazon orders being singled out to be rice-less and how am I as a customer supposed to know this??!?) So I argue with her a while and realize she will not help and that I will have to call Amazon a ridiculous saga ensues over them including pint of rice with their food. Even the Amazon Guy was like what Chinese restaurant does not serve rice with their food?!?

Here's my take this restaurant is so cheap they were not willing to throw a pint of rice in with an entree and stand by their advertised and posted menu. I didn't want anything over the top to make up for receiving an incorrect order I just wanted rice. And we also noticed during the saga that the chicken dish we received wasn't even Kung Pao it was Cashew Chicken so they didn't even send the correct food to us (this took a while to notice as again I'm a sleep deprived and starving)

My take on the food - their fried food items are greasy , doughy and bland. Skip them. Don't order the fried shrimp the tempura batter is like cake and the shrimp is like biting into jerky. The egg rolls were dry and freezer burnt. Definitely nothing fresh about them. However, their stir fries are pretty good and fresh. Lots of nice crisp veggies. I was surprised that the sauces for Cashew Chicken and Kung Pao were so similar and i don't think they are supposed to be. The Kung Pao was just Cashew Chicken spice...

This used to be my favorite fast food Chinese restaurant. NOT ANYMORE! I called in advance of placing my order to ask how to go about ordering something that wasn't listed on the Uber Eats menu anymore. The woman who answered the phone told me what to do. I added a special note onto my order with a simple request to make my rice, chicken fried rice. When I received the order, it was WRONG! Not only was the special note ignored but they gave me the wrong drink. When I called the restaurant to request a correction, I was told by the woman that the mistake wasn't her fault and that I should have ordered it differently. HUNH?! 1st off, the option for what I wanted didn't exist at all so there was no way I could have ordered it differently. I actually called in advance to let her know that the option that was once on the menu was no longer there and that they should look into it with Uber. She was extremely rude and disrespectful and never took any accountability and basically told me it was not her problem. If there is ever an issue with your order, the CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS ! The food was delicious. The inside is simple sit down. When I ordered 2 lunch specials (includes a side of chicken fried rice or white rice, egg drop soup & an egg roll). So I ordered pad Thai & beef fried rice entree. Both she said were lunch specials & wonton soup. Order came with the 2 lunch specials, one wonton soup, 1 egg drop soup & 1 egg roll. The 2 sides of rice, 1 egg roll & 1 egg drop soup were missing. Now when I order I had the woman repeat the order back due to the language barrier. So when we received the order I brought the missing items to her attention. Now she stated when u order the beef fried rice u don't get a side of rice not even the white rice. Then she states that the pad Thai is not a lunch special, so no rice or egg roll. When I placed the order she stated they offer the pad thai as a special & when I had the order repeated back to me it included 2 sides of rice, 2 egg rolls & 2 egg drop soups. Now the menu clearly states that all lunch specials come with those. Bait & switch... We didn't even get napkins. The food was tasty, the service was...
