It’s 3:30 pm 12/28/2021. I’m greeted with the same snarky cashier who . He has visible tattoos on his arms, gold embroidered glasses, and mid length curly hair. The first time I visited was as a GrubHub pickup for a diner. He and another coworker at the time decided to conveniently discuss their distaste in GrubHub’s ordering system as I’m standing there waiting to pick up a 20’ pizza for a diner. Not an appropriate time to have that conversation as I just want to pick up and go and not partake or overhear their gossip. The cashier on that day (the guy I described) seems to always stare you down when you come in and puts both his arms on the pizza display counter while ,as if seemingly impatiently ,waits for you to speak. Very unprofessional and very weird awkward body language. He was sighing for no reason and texting on his phone while sitting at the register as if my presence just standing waiting on the pizza for a diner was bothering him. I’ve also noticed that these employees tend to have uncanny conversations to each other that customers can overhear and when you are on the clock it’s best to have those type of convos away from the job. I was curious on this location so I double backed as a customer to try the pizza myself as it caught my curiosity delivering it to a GrubHub diner. It was my first time ordering here and I was met with the rude cashier again. Same body language both arms folded on top of the pizza display counter while staring you down impatiently. He’s fast and effective but it’s almost in a rush you kind of way, it’s hard to describe his demeanor. I asked about ingredients on top of some pizza slices. I spent almost $50 that day on my own personalized pizza and some slices to add.I was replied with a “DID YOU READ THE SIGN?” Then this cashier had the nerve to walk over to the sign and point at it. I told him “I know. I can read. I just wanted clarification on what that topping was as this is my first time ordering here” and he tried to play it off like he wasn’t being snarky and dismissive to me in the first place. Nevertheless,Pizza was delicious! Only pizza I’ve tried in a while that doesn’t give me heartburn! This review was originally at 1 star, but after eating the pizza. I couldn’t rate it low despite the iffy customer service. That’s what the 3 star is for. Very much so wanted to give a 5 star but the customer service is more than likely specialized, meaning based on the experience I received it felt as if this establishment might pick and choose which customers they willingly give good customer service to, or at least with my experience it’s just ONE EMPLOYEE in particular who lacks adequate customer service and is...
Read moreI won’t be coming back. Unfortunately after coming back here to try more items and exposed to their customer service more, I’m left very disappointed and irritated. First, there’s a 15% service fee added at time of checkout and not reflected in their pricing. It just isn’t honest. On top of that, the service is unhelpful. When asked for some tap water we were told they don’t have any. So we have to buy some, and a Topo Chico for example is FIVE DOLLARS. Restaurants not having tap water is unacceptable to me. Then, our dine-in pizza slices were shoved into bags and smeared a bunch of ricotta EVERYWHERE. When asked for a knife or something to scrape that delicious stuff back onto our slices we were told that was not available…no sort of knives or something to “scrape”. Guy just didn’t seem to care or understand how silly and thoughtless the service was.

Very solid pizza place, I recommend! The pizza was delicious, the staff friendly, but the prices a bit high and there’s a hidden 15% service fee that’s not included in their pricing either. So a $36 pizza with a coke and sparkling water turns into over $56! If that “goes to their workers”, then that’s great, but it should be reflected in the menu prices. It’s just dishonest.
We tried the Logan Zaddy and a regular cheese. Cheese was good, but I’d suggest you try the other specials unless you really love a simple cheese pizza.
I highly recommend anyone try the Logan Zaddy. The ricotta gave it extra creaminess and the bacon jam’s hits of rich sweetness was excellent. A little sweetness on a pizza takes things to the next level in my opinion and this jam is brilliant.
I’m looking forward to trying the tomato pie and white...
Read moreHeard great things about Paulie Gee’s so had to try it out. Originally went to the Logan Square location, but they don’t do slices there so I had to go to this Wicker Park one.
A few people sitting inside, Two people working behind the counter. One of the two guys (Todd?) that appear to be either the manager or someone in charge was handling the register and warming up the slices is the only one I had an interaction with.
Service was extremely poor. I would give zero stars if I could. From initially walking through the door, no welcome or hello. Walked up to the register, he gave a weird look and mumbled “can I help you”. Placed my order for 2 slices, told him 1 to go and 1 for here, he nodded it off, no words. Then both came out of the oven, and he just hands them to you and a bag separately. Terrible packaging, paper bag and a 25cent paper plate for a to go? Not to mention I saw him touch my slice after it come out the oven with his bare hands.. no gloves at all.
Pizza was pretty good, got the white pie. However he did overcook the undercarriage so it was 75% black. I didn’t even bother saying anything since customer service clearly isn’t the forte here.
Also they charge a 15% service fee on every order. For what, who knows.. I feel like I was under more pressure throughout this entire interaction. I’ll be back but don’t look forward to seeing the same people behind...
