Whale Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

My recent experience with Whales Chicken & Fish through Doordash was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the large Catfish filet dinner, and the audacity they had to send me this order was truly horrible. It was evident that something was amiss, and they didn't even attempt to hide what they had done.

The Catfish filet dinner I received seemed like it had been fried at least 30 minutes before delivery and then reheated in a microwave. The texture and taste were far from what one would expect from a freshly fried meal. It's disheartening when a restaurant resorts to such shortcuts to fulfill orders.

To mask their questionable behavior, they added four extra pieces to my dinner. While this may seem like a generous gesture, it doesn't make up for the subpar quality of the meal. This isn't the first time I've encountered such issues with this particular location, and I must admit that I blame myself for giving them another chance.

As a customer, I value the quality of the food I order, and I expect it to be prepared fresh and with care. Considering they are open until 2 AM, frying such an easy meal should never be an issue. It's worth noting that the reason I suspected the meal was reheated was because it took the Doordash driver less than 7 minutes to deliver it to me, and my order was marked as an express delivery, leaving no room for excuses on their part.

Unfortunately, my recent experiences with Whales Chicken & Fish have left me questioning whether I should continue ordering from them.

In contrast, I've had consistently positive experiences with Sharks Fish & Chicken. They've never let me down, and their commitment to quality is evident. I'll be redirecting my future orders to them, as I appreciate a restaurant that doesn't compromise on the satisfaction of its customers.

In conclusion, I will not be ordering from Whales Chicken & Fish again, and I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for them to reevaluate their practices and prioritize the quality...

I went to whales; because I did not cook today. I was overly hungry and order a combo meal with some butter cookies. The combo meal was 2 fish filets and 4 wings. I get home to eat my food. I started with the Fries. I ate one piece of fish and worked my why to the wings. I also ate 1 piece of chicken. Just to find out they gave me a deformed piece of chicken. Which was a chicken leg with no thighs. So I go back to get a refund. Just to have a hard time getting it. They told me I ate half of my order and only gave me back $8 out of the $20 I paid. I also got some butter cookies. That I also brought back un opened. They did not want to give me back my money at all . They even started to broke the cost of my order saying you pay $4 for the fish $3 for the fries and $8 for the chicken. This was a hot mess because; I did not pay for a deformed piece of chicken. But any way long story short. I would not be eating out of here anymore and if I was you I would not neither. especially if you don't want no...

After driving from the opposite side of town I get home and food is not correct I called and spoke with Rita, who was so rude and unprofessional. She told me that she bagged my order herself and that it was correct. I explained to her that I ordered a Whales combo (chicken wings, catfish and tenders) and a chicken combo (wings, tenders). What I received was a chicken combo and a combo that included catfish and shrimp. This is unacceptable and when I asked to speak to the manager Danny she told me I would have to call in the morning because she already told me he was gone for the day. I’m disgusted with the service I received on top of my food not being tasty. This needs to be reported to the owner and the city. At the location it shows the establishment has not been inspected since 2017. I will be waiting until they open today to speak with the manager to see if he can rectify this...
