I grew up in Milton and live in Texas now. I am visiting for a few weeks and decided to try out May's. My mom comes here pretty frequently and has never had any issues. I admit, the scenery is beautiful and it is a quaint place. We were excited to get ice cream, and ordered a hot fudge sundae and a banana split. They brought my mom's sundae and it was a small instead of a large, which the girl replaced for her. They brought out my banana split and I noticed right away that it was melting. They literally made me a banana split with soft ice cream. It was melting everywhere! There were also only a tiny bit of strawberry, one piece of pineapple and two bits of peanuts. I had to ask for a tray to put the banana split on top of because it was melting all over the table. The young man didn't even offer to give me a new one despite the fact it was melting before our eyes. I have attached a photo of this FIVE DOLLAR banana split that I couldn't even eat. This picture was taken only after I ate the whipped cream on top. This is what they gave me and it proceeded to melt completely after this photo was taken. And no offer to get a refund or a new sundae.
I don't know what is wrong with this place but perhaps they should have people working there who are older than 17 and who know how to handle customers and how to make a proper banana split. I will not ever return to this place....

The pros: Outdoor seating with a nice view of the water The young cashiers were friendly and respectful
The cons: We were greeted with an over worked stressed waitress who said she was too busy to serve us breakfast outside. This was a disappointment since we called before we came to confirm they had outdoor seating since we have our little dog with us. Yet, we made the best of it and took the waitress’ alternative suggestion to order breakfast to go.
We saw many alarming, possibly health violating, practices as they were preparing and packing up our food. The cooks touched their face and then the food A cashier handled money and then proceeded to pack our food; he also handled the coffee stir straw with his bare hands.
Despite all that, we chose to pray over our food and eat. This was the final disappointment. The food was AWFUL.
I typically only take the time to give good reviews so the fact that I took the time to write this bad review reflects how truly terrible it was.

Read moreService was terrible. Food was okay. There were several people seated after us that had their order taken first and received food first. The only thing I would say was really good is that my friend ordered a to go meal to take back to her husband. And they actually thought to wait until we were mostly done with our meal to make it and bring it out so it would still be hot when it made it back. I think if you are one of the regulars, your service would be fine. But if they don't know you by name, they will serve everyone they know before you. Even if you were there significantly ahead of that person. It was a good 15 minutes until they took our order. It definitely isn't somewhere I would go out of my way to...
