This is my go to place for a mini hot pot. Unfortunately tonight was not the greatest. Our hot pots were good and the calamari but everything else was not good.
First thing first, a coke for like 2.95 was flat and warm, our server happily replaced it but it was even more warm and flat. She said this is a brand new one for you which made me question like was the first one not new? Confusing. When a different lady brought over the check my fiance tried to tell her about the soda to take it off because 2x it was flat instead of listening to us she says ok OK ok with an attitude and walked away. We were sitting there like what does that mean? Like as someone who works in a resturant that lady needs better training in customer service. She even rushed our payment we wanted to split in half and she just took my card and tried to charge the whole thing.
The chicken heart skewers were over seasoned with cumin and over cooked. If they listed prices on their menu I would've never bought these tiny skewers for 8$ kinda crazy (would be helpful to the customer if you listed prices)
The lamb skewers were under seasoned and over cooked. The fact that these tiny skewers cost $10 just as much as the calamari is crazy.
Love this place and I hate to see quality go down. Also staff needs better hospitality especially to...

Here are some of the things I liked about Cheers Cafe West Covina:
The food is delicious. I had the spicy beef hot pot and the chicken teriyaki, and it was cooked perfectly and the taste was amazing. My friend had the beef and broccoli and he said it was the best he's ever had.
The service is excellent. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She made sure we had everything we needed and he was always checking on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal.
The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. The restaurant is decorated in a modern style with warm colors and comfortable seating.
Overall, I had a great experience at Cheers Cafe...
Read moreMore like a 4.5 stars, overall, the food was very good. I usually don't eat Asian food in a cafe or cafe-like environment, nor am I ever in West Covina. I was pleasantly surprised at how solid the food was. The fried tofu was a must-try, and the bbq skewers and yakitori tasted almost like something out of an Asian bbq restaurant. Major props. Even the mini hotpot was pretty solid.
One of the major things I like about Cheers Cafe is the clean environment. It's a cozy and pretty fun place to be. Did I mention you can also get many drinks here? It is truly a cafe experience, and I was sure to get my taro milk tea with my meal.
Perhaps if you are next to Tokyo Central Market doing some shopping and want some great lunch or dinner, then I can suggest you head over here, especially to check out their...
