Rainbow Donuts is under new ownership. Today 03/14/2025, I went to Rainbow Donuts looking forward to my Chocolate Bar and cup of Coffee. I was dissapointed with the Chocolate Bar. Today's Chocolate Bar was smaller than it use to be. It was not fresh or soft. It was more stale like and dry. The Chocolate icing was the cheap unflavored flakey icing that a lot of Donut shops use.
Before the new owners came along, the older owners, Sing and Tom served fresh donuts. The Chocolate Bar was bigger, softer and fresher. The chocolate icing was creamy and chocolate flavored. I use to drive about four and a half miles to buy up to four dozen donuts for my friends at the bank and the auto mechanics. They all enjoyed Sing and Tom's donuts. But now I may have to break the bad news to them as well as, others about how the new younger owners are having their donuts made.
I tried to explain the situation and the dissapointment on how they make their donuts by using someone who speaks their language translate for me. But it was told to me that the new owner said "nothing has changed". How sad of what is becoming of Rainbow Donuts. I hope they go back and make them like they use to be. Quality over Money. Hopefully they will listen. Good Luck to...

I've been going here for a few years, its a staple of this city. There's always going to be mishaps (like an accidental overcharge or a person having a bad day), but I genuinely like the food. Yeah, they're no longer family run (I believe) and yeah, I think some of the drinks in the fridge are old, but the donuts are always soft and fluffy. Their jelly filled, custard, double chocolate, their glazed, the fruity pebble one, the tiny glazed bites, it all always tastes so good. Maybe once it was a little on the harder side but I ordered it in the middle of the night so it makes sense. It's slightly expensive because it's not a corporation like yum yum, it's a small business that's been running for YEARS. The price is reasonable for being a small business in West Covina and over the years, I've seen hella changes and diversity in their menu. Like, they're selling boba now?? Hello?? That's how you adapt to the environment. I really enjoy this establishment and will get Rainbow over YumYum's or Dunkin' or Krispy Kream anytime. This is my and my families favorite place to get donuts and...
Read moreIt’s hard to put into words the experience I had with Rainbow donuts. I don’t typically stop for donuts ever especially at 1130 at night, however for some reason something told me to stop by at this place to take a look. I walk in to take a look at the variety of different donuts they had. The variety of different donuts isn’t wide but it doesn’t need to be. I am a maple bar fanatic so obviously I picked the cinnamon roll with maple bar icing. After my first bite I was absolutely blown away with how good that donut was. If there was a tip jar I would of put a 100 dollar bill in there.
Well done...
