Lobster & Steak Express — Restaurant in West Covina

I like the taste of the food so I am giving a 5-star for the chef. But I 100% will NOT go again even if they give me a free banquet. A few days ago, I ordered a to-go dish. Upon arrival, I went to the counter saying I am here for pickup, then a lady (I guess owner?) came out of the kitchen ignoring me and was about to pick up the ringing phone. So I thought she will take care of the phone call first before attending to me. Then out of the blue, she stared at me and yelled “hey!! pay now!!!”. I was stunned and shocked, and was about to leave at such terrible attitude. But I thought ok, this will be my last. So I handed over my card for her to swipe. So here’s the thing. I never knew she will attend to me because her left hand was already picking up the phone. I never knew she intended to multi-task with her right hand swiping my card. Her attitude to the customer on the other end of the call was rude too. If she wants to retain customers, she should change her attitude. I feel like I am paying to be offended. I will not go again and will not recommend my friends to go too. We dine out to have a happy time, not to be yelled at. Oh of course, no smile, no “hello”, no “thank you”. Made me feel like I am begging her for food but in fact, I AM...

If you're contemplating trying this place... stop thinking, and just come. Highly recommend this place to everyone. I am writing this review after several visit, and each visit has always meet my expectations.

The food is very tasty, and consistent. I've ordered the House Filet Mignon several times, and every time the steak is flavorful, and melts in your mouth . The staff is always friendly (even under high pressure). I've enjoyed this place enough that I have introduced family and friends, and this place has quickly become all of our favorites.

If take portion into consideration, the portion sizes are generous. I've even ordered take out over the phone, and the take out portions are no different.

My only feedback is that the space can get crowded, and wait times to be seated can be long at times. However, it is understandable with the fantastic food they are serving.

This place was recommended by a friend but unfortunately to me I’m gonna have to tell him it’s a bust. I ordered to go and that started out with a bad start. The lady up front has a real attitude. Picking up the dish was even worst. Guess it can’t be authentic without the attitude with these establishments some would say. But Boston lobster (in San Gabriel) has one of the best services. 🤷🏻. So with that said do not go here if you want any type of service and do not ever ever ask for water if you get what I mean. As for the lobster dish. It probably would have tasted a way lot better if I didn’t have a sour taste from the service. The noodles I do prefer yee mein instead of their chow mein they use.
