Burger King — Restaurant in West Des Moines

Geez, what a lousy fast food experience. Sat in my car a little after 1:00PM (6/14/19) in a 'trapped' fast food line behind 4 cars and was unable to leave. It took over 20 minutes to finally get to the cashier, which wound up making me late getting to work. First of all by the time i finally got to the drive-up ordering window I had to repeat my simple order 4 times (a whopper with only mayo and tomato). Then once i finally got to the pick-up window i had to wait several minutes more before anyone even came to the window! I asked the girl what the hold up was,and she said she was having a hard time hearing the orders. I asked to speak with the manager. A dishwater blonde came to the windoe and i politely let her know how long i'd been in line and would be late for work. She informed me they were in training. I promptly informed her that good management should never train new employees on a busy drive through cash register, especially when there's a long line of cars. She said, "Well i hope you have a better day!" as she turned around and walked away. Wow. Talk about LOUSY managrment, man this Burger King has got it!!! I know a LOT of people in Des Moines and the surrounding area. I will warn EVERYONE i know to stay away from this place. Especially after reading the long list of other bad reviews i've just read on this place. Maybe they think being right by the interstate will save them. However i was so turned off by this incredibly unprofessional manager, i think i will stop being a Burger King customer all together. Usually I don't have any problems at this BK, but the crew must've been having a bad day the last time I visited. I make a habit of ALWAYS checking my orders BEFORE I LEAVE ANY fast food DRIVE THRU, seeing as I live out of town, & mistakes can be made (I mean we're ALL human) ‼️ Well this particular visit we were buying food for the family to take home. So BEFORE LEAVING WE CHECKED our ORDER, WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE: 2 orig chicken sand, 3 whopper melts (which by the way, are DELICIOUS‼️), 2 med & 1 large fry, & 2 mozza sticks... OUR SACK CONSISTED OF: 2 orig chicken sand, 3 whopper melts, 2 med & 1 large fry.... BUT THEN: THERE WAS 1 order of CHICKEN FRIES, & 1 order of CHICKEN NUGGETS ❓‼️❓ BUT NEITHER ORDER of the MOZZA STICKS or marinara sauce (which I had specifically asked about, when handed our food) were in the sack‼️ So I went in to let them know we didn't get the mozza sticks OR marinara sauce, & showed her WHAT we DID GET - SHE WAS QUITE RUDE towards me, & SEEMED IRRITATED at ME for THEIR ERROR in the ORDER ‼️ SHE GRABBED the CHICKEN ITEMS OUT OF MY HAND & THREW THEM HARD INTO THE GARBAGE. THEN AS SHE WAS WALKING AWAY, said "I'LL HAVE TO DROP SOME DOWN FOR YOU!" FROM THERE ON, IT DIDN'T GET ANY BETTER ‼️

I never pay in cash but had decided to today since I had it on me. The old woman at the 1st window took my $5 bill, then handed me change. She didn’t give me a receipt but I let it go because it’s not a big deal. I waited about 5 minutes for my order and overheard them saying someone drove off without paying. I didn’t think anything of it because I paid until one of the workers confronted me about it. They said the lady at the first window said I drove off without paying. Idk if she has no short term memory or what but I will never pay in cash again with them. The worker in the back was incredibly rude and kept pushing it. I would have given another $5 to pay for my meal but I wasn’t about to spend $10 on sub par food because some old bat can’t keep her head on straight. The woman at the 2nd window was nice and finally gave me my order. I know this seems like a petty review but you don’t treat customers like that. Make sure you get your receipts and pay with card if the old woman is at the 1st window. Fries tasted like how toilet water smells. Nuggets were fine.
