We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights for Valentine’s Day 2 months ahead payment was made that same day a total of $241.92. The day of are check in we were called and told are rooms were unavailable and we had to pay extra for suites because that’s all that was available we did not except. We refused because we booked over a month ahead and already paid so for the inconvenience they went in and changed are reservation for us and said they upgraded are rooms . Upon arrival we were charged a total of a $161 deposit. The next morning around 11am management came and kicked us out are rooms. He claimed we didn’t have a reservation and had to leave immediately and when I tried to speak to him he threatened to call the police if we didn’t leave. It’s been over a month since then and I haven’t received any money back for the deposit or the night in each room we didn’t get . I have a case with choice hotels but the most we’ve gotten is 1 “Free” night. As far as are deposit I have been told by customer care that they contacted the hotel management and they claim they’ve already provided a refund however the lovely customer care lady told me that she wanted to be completely transparent and let me know that she does in fact not see any refund by the hotel on her side and tried to offer me another “free night” for the inconvenience because she could not personally do the refund . The manager was very rude and claims nobody ever called us or changed are reservation but customer care assured me multiple times that they were able to pull all information regarding are reservation’s as well as being able to see where the hotel personally changed are reservation the day of are check in. So on top of us not being refunded for the 2 nights we also probably won’t get are deposits back. And will mostly be seeking legal help regarding this situation due to the way we were treated And we’ve also been told multiple times that this is a frequent thing at this hotel location so please be aware when booking . Also when I asked the manager the day we were kicked out of are rooms for his corporate number he gave me a number to a random vacuum company. I’m writing this review hoping it will get the attention of higher ups in the company so hopefully we can get it resolved I’ve already spoken to customer service customer care etc & I am aware it’s not the company’s fault just poor management but it’s still not okay to take peoples money and the situation needs to be resolved...
Read moreWe stayed seven days. As odd as it sounds, they only clean the room every three days. So therefore we had to go down every day and ask for towels take our old towels down, etc. We are in our 70s and we’re looking for a leisurely stay not a workday. They only cleaned our room once in seven days every day we would ask and it was ridiculous. We were the in-house maids I guess. We will go down and tell them they really didn’t care. The only person that listened to me was a young boy probably a young man, who worked at night he had kind of reddish blonde hair and he said he was going to , tell the manager. Well, when we were leaving, we told a black lady who was working there and she really didn’t give a heck up for it. She didn’t say she was sorry she didn’t apologize. She didn’t say well that’s not normal. She said nothing. She gave us a look , my husband talk to the manager and she said well that’s a guy that just left which she knew we were complaining she should have told him. When we went outside with our luggage to pack into the car, we saw him out fiddling around in the yard, so we called him over. His name was Brian , we told him he said well we only clean it every three days we didn’t get that we got it in seven days. He said he would look into it and we could possibly get a discount which is what the young guy had told us before that we would get discounts for the time they didn’t come and the poor service . I also would like to say that there were some young blonde girls working at the counter at various times and they were very rude to my husband. They acted like his concerns were oh well we were not happy at all. We travel a lot and this will not be a place. We will stop...
Read moreWe came into town and the Comfort Inn and Suites was close to where we were going, and the reviews were good, so we gave it a try. It should have been better. I'll start with the pluses. The location was great. Jordan Creek Parkway is a busy road, and there's a light at the Starbucks that makes access easy. There are a lot of choices for restaurants, shopping, and attractions in a short driving distance. That covers the positives. Now to the negatives, and it wasn't one glaring thing, but a buildup of little things. The bathroom has about an 18" towel rack, and no towel hanger on the door. There were two of us in the room, so we had no place to hang towels. We asked the desk twice during the three-night stay to drop off fresh towels. That never happened. I kept having to go to the desk for towels. The breakfast was just okay. The first day had pork sausage and turkey sausage. The second and third they only had the turkey sausage, which tastes like sawdust. I used the bathroom in the lobby each day. each day I let the desk know that either the men's room was out of soap, or the dispenser wasn't working. I stayed three nights. This was never addressed. Also, it looks like they never quite finished the bathroom, as there is a big gap along the shower. A picture has been provided below. This is how mold happens. Finally, the place was loud. Someone upstairs kept stopping around at all hours and doors started slamming in the halls at about 6:00 AM every day. A good night of sleep was not going to be had. It doesn't look they finished the job when the installed the shower. If we come to West Des Moines again, I doubt I'll...
