Rosati's Pizza — Restaurant in West Des Moines

This was the first time that I have tried Rosati‘s on Mills Civic Parkway. A little background about me, I’ve tried Orlando’s (now closed), Bordenaros and Scornovaccas. This place thoroughly amazed me! I had my doubts, but they were quickly erased as soon as I viewed my finished pizza! Without even trying it, I knew it would be fabulous when I got home. This place does not skimp on ingredients! Besides that their customer service is second to none! Mario the owner was there and I talk to him for a while also, What a wonderful person! I ordered the fabulous four, which had mushrooms sausage green pepper and onions on it. The crust was out of this world and was done perfectly! The sauce on the pizza was what really amazed me, I’m Italian and I’m very picky with my sauces when I eat pasta, and this was one of the most authentic sauces I’ve ever tasted! All of the employees, especially the lady that took my order over the phone (I apologize but I forgot her name! but she was a younger person) were top notch and made sure that I was satisfied. Because of my experience that I had today with ordering the pizza in the overall taste of the pizza, I will be back at this location many time in the future!! Wow! Wow! Wow! What a major disappointment! I had the pleasure of being a doordasher there today for a delivery. When I went inside, all I could hear were teenage girls laughing in the back. I said to the young man at the register, :"with all that laughing going on, I hope my doordash order is ready!" The young man went to the warmer oven and gave me the pizza. Then, a young girl, who must have been the child of the owner, came up to the register and I said " I hope you guys are getting some work done with all that laughing going on!" She then yelled at me and said,"Don't you ever come back here!" I told her that I would inform doordash to remove them from future deliveries, and she screamed,"I DON'T CARE! She did this in front of two customers waiting for their order in the store! I guess she just saw a black woman not knowing that I am part Sicilian!!! MY ANCESTORS ARE IN NEW YORK! THEY DEVELOPED THE NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA!! DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!! I will never doordash for this company again! By the other low reviews, it sounds like the kids need a trip back to Sicily, Italy 🇮🇹 to relearn how to make a proper Sicilian pizza! Our ancestors would turn in their graves!...

Our family is a iowa transplant from Chicago and we were visiting west desmoines, iowa for a tournament and the boys were in a hankering for some pizza at 9pm. When we pulled up pizza places we stopped when we saw Rosati's! Anyone who is a native Chicagoan knows that Rosati's is a Chicago staple and one to die for. The best pizza ever. You have to get it cut classic square cut like the original! We met Mario and Cheryl (the owners) who were nice enough to come out and say hi since we were eating in that night. Turns out if you eat here you are getting authentic authentic Rosati's Chicago pizza because the owners - and this is the only Rosatis they own- are from the area in the Chicago suburbs of the original Rosatis and have that hard core passion and love for food and their customers. THIS IS AN AMAAZZZIINNNGG PLACE AND YOU MUST TRY THEIR FOOD AND TOP IT OFF WITH A CANOLI!
