I am normally not the type of person to leave a business review, but the team at Josephs went above and beyond for me and my fiancée in a time of need.
For my proposal, the team at Josephs resized a family ring and updated the head - my fiancée loved the final product.
The ring ended up running a little large, so we brought it back in to be sized down. A few days after dropping the ring off, my fiancée experienced a loss of an immediate family member. We booked flights to go join her family with a same day evening departure. I knew that she was missing her ring and offered to go pick it up, even though we had several days until it was supposed to be ready.
I talked to Jodie and explained our situation. I told her that we would be happy to take the ring back in its current condition and finish the resizing once we came back to Des Moines. Instead, Jodie expedited the process and had us return before our evening flight to pick up the ring, which was ready and newly polished.
While the next couple weeks were very difficult for us, my fiancée was able to take comfort in having her ring on her finger and share the joy of our engagement with family that gathered for the wake and funeral. Words can't properly express my appreciation to Jodie and the team that allowed her that reprieve during one of the most challenging experiences of her life.

Over the years I had purchased several items from Josephâs and each time was treated courteously and given a meaningful discount by Mr. Baum, Toby or his son. This time, however, the salesperson was offended I had even requested a discount. He promptly called over the intercom. âCustomer requests discountâŠâand stated, âI canât help you anymore.â Simultaneously, another staff person responded with âno discount!â. I left the store. The response of Josephâs is incredulous to say the least. The spokesperson states neither store has an intercom, yet the salesperson personâs request âJosephâs family member requested; customer requests discountâ echoed throughout the store. The salespersonâs request was clearly broadcast over some sort of loudspeaker. Almost simultaneously an unidentified person, who was at least 15 feet from the salesperson, exhorted, âno discountâ. The individual didnât offer an introduction or explanation. As soon as she stated âno discountâ she turned and walked away. I get that some merchandise may not be discounted.    Read moreJoseph's is a wonderful, beautiful store with intelligent and caring staff members. I've been there a few times. The first time, I went with my mother to reset her engagement ring diamond into a pendant for me to wear. The shop set it in a pendant and it looks absolutely stunning. I was thrilled my mom got to see it before she passed away from cancer a mere 3 months after we had the pendant made. I will always treasure it and I have Joseph's to thank for being so kind and helping my mom and I put together the perfect pendant.
I went back a few months later to get a pearl necklace restrung. I had inherited my mother's pearls and I wanted to wear them to her funeral. They did beautiful work and the pearls glisten and gleam. I also bought a pearl ring to match and they put a rush on the resizing. Then, to really knock my socks off, they let me pick up the ring the morning of her funeral before the store even opened, because that was the earliest it could be ready. I waited out in my car and a sales clerk brought the ring to me in a lovely box.
The thoughtfulness of how Joseph's has treated both my mother and me means the world to me. A lot of jewelry people wear, including me, has a special meaning that goes beyond the "bling," and they truly understand that at this store. I give them an A+++...
