McDonald's — Restaurant in West Donegal Township

Despite living in Elizabethtown and favoring McDonalds over other fast food venues, I haven't been to this location in a long time. And, my recent visit reaffirms my intentional avoidance.

The truth is, I'm not one to post negative reviews. An eternal optimist of sorts, so this is rare. But, every experience at this restaurant always ends in disappointment and that deserves at least an honest account for others to see.

This last visit was for 2 large Diet Cokes (it's an addiction) and a double cheeseburger, only cheese. From previous visits, I expected the price to be higher than other McDonalds so I was pleasantly surprised when the sodas showed up for $1, something this location had never complied with.

When I got my order, I noticed pretty quickly that the cups felt a bit odd. And, after about 4 sips, the first one was empty.. huh. Further inspection revealed the cup filled to the very top with ice. On both. A cost savings measure, no doubt. A disappointment to your customers, of an equal loss of doubt.

But, even more annoying: cold food. Not warm - room temperature, which to me is cold when speaking about food that is supposed to be hot. If you'll recall, I ordered a double cheeseburger with only cheese. Now, to their credit the order was correct. But, when you realize they had to special make this sandwich for me, it seems surprising that it would be cold. The sandwich hadn't been sitting, assembled and waiting for an hour. Nope - they made a "fresh" sandwich completely cold. It's almost like they try to disappoint.

Anyway, I won't be back. There is a much better McDonald's...

I would normally not even bother with a low rating, but in this case it is deserved. I was at this location about an hour ago and waited for 15 mins before disgustedly walking out without acknowledgement or and offer of service. I know it was shift change and some people want to go home, but when you only have 4 or 5 customers in the building, also only 2 cars in the drive thru you should have no problem serving the ones who are looking at you and trying to be patient. There were 8 regular employees, not counting the janitor, and 3 supervisors, supervisors couldn't stay out of each other's way, and still no one could be bothered to take my order. This location has steadily gone down hill in the last 2 years but this is the lowest. I will not be returning, even though I work at the Giant next door. I hope that this will be ready and that some form of training can be had for a location that should boom every day with the amount of traffic in the area. May 5th 2019...Against my better judgment I decided to try this McDonald's again and thinking that using the mobile app I would have a better experience and would not have to wait as long, unfortunately, due to the incompetence that continues to be rampant at this location, my order was given to someone else and I had to wait an additional 20 minutes, totaling about half an hour, just to get my food. I will not be coming back again even though it is convenient to my work. I hope the poor souls that we're still waiting for food did I have the...

So I walked here from campus with my boyfriend. As we approached the building, we began to consider that the restaurant might be closed, seeing as we saw a man and his young daughter try and fail to open both doors. However, upon arriving, it was abundantly clear that the dining room was not, in fact, closed. I got the attention of someone in the dining room and they opened the door for me from inside (this was after I called the number with no answer).

After entering the building, we heard loud complaints from workers in the kitchen towards each other, shouting about how there were more people there, and the manager yelled at one of the workers asking “why she didn’t lock the doors”. I would have understood this, with some discontent should it have been in the last 15 minutes of opening time, or even the last 30 minutes. But this was 3.5 hours early! My boyfriend works in foodservice and said he understood the desire to close early, but confirmed that this was wholly unacceptable to close so early.
