Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in West Goshen Township

Ok so its an Applebee's.I wasn't expecting much, but I have to say, it was pretty underwhelming to say the least. A few friends I was meeting up with messed up bc they didn't see the hostess and sat down at a table, but then no one served us. We eventually got a waitress who was friendly and did a pretty good job overall. We came in for the NFL Thursday game only to find that all the TVs were in SD! We started with an order of apps. Boy let me tell yah, you get what yah pay for. The artichoke spinach dip was basically spinach leafs in a cup of Elmer's glue. SO bad. The pretzels and cheese dip was good I have to say. All the other apps were pretty underwhelming. not one of us was offered a napkin. We asked the manager (good looking) for some extra napkins and she came back with 3. There were four of us. Then onto the entrees. I got the ribs and my buddy got the mac and cheese. The ribs were pretty poor. I would have preferred Lloyds ribs that you get at Wal-Mart. But more surprisingly, the mac and cheese was BAD. Mac and cheese! it was very bland and served at room temp. the waitress was ending her shift so asked if we close out. My buddy had a bunch of cash on hand bc he had a good day trading corn futures and offered to pay. the bill was $120 which was displayed on some type of tablet. I wont even get started with that thing. So my buddy handed her 6 20 dollar bills. I guess we should have tipped then, but we said we would get the tip and didn't have it ready. I think she assumed we weren't tipping so she took the cash and that was the end of the service. There were all types of plates and half eaten entrees in front of us whilst we watched the games. No one came over to serve us drinks and there was another waitress seating people in both tables next to us. Not knowing what to do exactly we went to the bar to watch the remainder of the game in standard def. The bartender was friendly and staff was friendly and we had a great time, but the service just wasn't quite there and the food was pretty poor. Unfortunately my experience at this Applebee's location will forever live in my mind. There was a loooong wait without any check in about when the group (4) could possible be seated, given the fact that the restaurant was empty. When we were finally seated, it took 10 minutes or so to finally be greeted by our waiter Ken. Im not to sure if he was already having a rough day but his attitude was distasteful like the food we ate that night. When we finally ordered our drinks and they were being brought out to us, i saw Ken sneeze on our drinks. And he still gave it to us. I was disgusted and asked for the drinks to be remade and he started to huff and puff like the big bad wolf. Unbelievable. We then ordered our food and when he came back to serve us he smelled of cigarette smoke and was coughing very loudly OVER our food. Disgusting. One of the waitresses there addressed him about what transpired and he started to yell in her face. Now at this time there were more people in the restaurant so im sure they saw this altercation between the two. They way he disrespected, degraded, and inappropriately spoke to that woman was traumatizing and i will never eat here again. The food isnt even all that and this is the type of customer service you have to represent your establishment? Shameful. Ken needs to learn boundaries, respect, HYGIENE, and food safety. The food here is good, but most important to us, All of the staff know and get along with the customers. You can tell the staff knows the bar is the centerpiece and the whole place runs smoothly, they make nice recommendations and food comes out hot and fast...

Another great visit, June 2019:

We knew we would get fed quick here, and I cant say enough what a great time we had. The host held the door open, and was happy to see us. We sat at the bar because we have more fun and get great service and atmosphere. The bartenders were also happy to see us come in. Our drinks were fast and made perfectly. There were plenty of specials to pick from so we got great deals on the drinks and the food too. Everyone was having a good time here and I saw some familiar faces. We ordered a free app from the email promotions, and it was brought out within 5 minutes. We also ordered one of our favorite burgers, and it was served before the appetizer was even done - a sure delight - and we were sure hungry. We made sure to note Moira and Tori's names for this review. They are superstars in the center of the restaurants energy.
