The old blonde hair lady is so rude! You can't be rude to customers and expect them to come back to your cafe. There are tons of other options in the area. My entire family and friends will not be supporting this cafe any longer. Only cafe I have ever been to that gets annoyed when you order food (Eye rolls, sighs, etc.) If you don't want people ordering things on your menu like crepes then don't put them on the menu.we have had two bad experiences and we are done after today. One day, one of my daughters had a bug in her drink when handed the drink and when we showed the old lady she was rude and said it was only small fly. Um gross! Make a new drink without arguing with your customers. Thought maybe it was just an off day, then today one of my kids walks in, order a drink and macrons. Pays for them. Sits down. Starts eating with her brother and again the old lady comes over starts yelling at them and kicks out her own customers that just paid for a drink and cookies bc they had brought in a drink from the donut place down the street that wasn’t finished yet in 95 degree heat. Instead of saying can you please not bring in food or drink from other places or could you please get rid of that. I would get it if they were taking up seating in your shop and not paying for anything but they bought from you. Screams at the teens to leave! I love how you waited until AFTER they gave you their money and they sit down and are eating for you to come storming over to them. Your younger staff are always nice and kind. The two older ladies (might be sisters and must be the owners bc based on all the horrible things this lady has done she would’ve been fired if she wasn’t an owner) whatever the case she needs several lessons in customer service. Your macrons are shipped in from NY. We can buy macrons elsewhere. We can get coffee at 20 other places in the area. You are going to be closing soon at the rate you keep losing customers with...

This was absolutely atrocious. Cafe Sofia looked nice so it was on our list of places to go. Was hoping for a nice brunch with crepes. First off, employees were rude and took 45 minutes when it wasn’t even rush hour. We had to remind them to make our order! Only when asked they started. We had an order of two crepe. One crepe was soggy and raw, and gave me a terrible stomachache and food poisoning. I could taste the flour. The other crepe was egg cheese and basil, and it was terrible. It had artificial basil dust and was raw as well. The iced coffee tasted like water and it was just horrible. This place is definitely the worst restaurant I have ever been too. The savory was dusted with smelly basil powder. The whole experience left, literally, a bad taste in my mouth. Ruined my whole weekend because I got so sick. That was a soggy raw pancake, anyone following a simple recipe could do 10x better at...

Walked by this cafe a few times and decided to give it a try, big mistake. I waited at the counter with no greeting or acknowledgment, while the server chatted pleasantly with other patrons and even greeted the two people who came in after me. I happened to be the only non-white customer at the time, and reading other reviews, it seems I wasn’t the only one who received this treatment. After about four minutes, she approached with no smile or hello, just a sigh, and asked for my order. When my food arrived, she simply placed it on the table and walked away. The food itself was average. The waffle was fine, but the fruit wasn’t properly washed, there was also a fly on the dish, likely due to the sugar and fruit, but it still left me uneasy. Overall, the food is forgettable, but the service was unacceptably cold and impatient. I would...

Went to this cafe to pick up some macarons for my mother. This cafe is super cute and I definitely need to come back to try come more pastries and ice cream. I ordered a savory crepe and it was alright, although a little pricey and it took way longer to be completed than expected. I suppose that can be a good thing since the crepes are fresh and if I weren’t busy running errands I wouldn’t have been in a rush and probably would have had a better sit-down experience. My bf ordered a funky monkey smoothie and it was very filling. There are a few outdoor tables available on the patio and it is a nice spot for coffee in Blue Back Square. My mom enjoyed the macarons and I definitely would like to return to see more of what Cafe Sofia has to offer.

Friendly, quaint, and the perfect respite on a rainy day. We played board games and ate dulces and crepes. We had Mighty leaf tea (their selection is at least a dozen or more teas), and I had a cappuccino too. We spent hours here, eating, drinking, and playing games. The prosciutto crepe was yummy, though I wish there were set crepes and not +$3 for each additional topping. I wanted meat with other things. We added mushrooms and it was okay. I think prosciutto with fig and basil would be my next go-to. There is parking out back and front but it is very crowded.

The coffee is good, but the Crepes and the Belgian waffles are incredible. The strawberry and banana topped Belgian waffle is second to none here. You can also find some less common bakery items in the cases. This our favorite place to go for breakfast. They also have ice cream and smoothies, which my kids love to have on a warm spring or summer evening. If you're lucky, you might get one of the seats out front and can watch all of West Hartford go by. Seating may be limited on a busy morning or evening, but it's worth it to stop in and get something here.
