I was rushing to pick up a salad and completely forgot to grab my mask - I even forgot my purse and keys... The guy with the beard greeted me very rudely with, “do you have a mask?”. I told him “no, I’m sorry” (thinking he’d hand me one to put on) Then he said “do you go in places without a mask?” and I replied with “I’m not from around here so I don’t know who still requires them, I’m sorry” (it’s not a state mandate anymore so..) and he said “well around here we wear them. Are you vaccinated?” - WHO ARE YOU TO ASK THAT? Then he paused like he wasn’t going to give me my order that I already paid for online. After a long pause he basically threw it on the counter at me because he was so disgusted and it clearly showed. Treated me very poorly. Extremely rude. Extremely unprofessional - which is not surprising at a place where kids work. I’ve never had a customer service/food worker raise their voice at me. THEN he walked outside to smoke… hilarious. If he just would have asked me (not even politely, but just asked) to go grab a mask and said nothing else, I would have gladly done that - but since he didn’t and was extremely rude, I decided to leave a review. I NEVER write reviews but this was unnecessary. I told probably ten different coworkers who live in West Lafayette (as I do not live here, I’m only here once a week for work) and they informed me that particular location was the “dirtiest” and he is always rude. I plan on NEVER going back to any Hot Box location. Unprofessional, rude, and mean. How is you smoking with a huge beard sanitary for making food? I can’t believe Hot Box trains their employees to treat people so badly. If I could give negative...
Read moreI'm a doordasher, and part of that job is food service interactions, I rarely have memorable encounters with people and I'm not upset with that, I mean they're working. But today, April 4th 2024, around 4:30 pm, I had the single best food service interaction I have ever had in my entire life at this very establishment. A kid behind the counter around my age probably, 20ish, looked ready for me to come in, hungry even. I hold up my phone and state the dashers name, "doordash for Ceri" I say. His face scrunches up a little and he exclaimed an excited and curious "hmph". I knew this would be exciting. He goes to the shelf where online orders are stored whilst he made some noises. "Ceri isn't it?" He asked. "Yeah that's the one". "Hmph, I wouldn't feed her if I were you." This sentence paired with his previous actions made it impossible for me not to giggle like a little boy. "I hear she's the queen of the Dragons." I don't know how he didn't break character, I really dont. I was unable to contain myself after that, I think he said something but I couldn't hear him as I had laughed my way out of the store and into my car. I probably laughed about it for 20 minutes, I even called my grandma to let her know the news, that Ceri was in fact the Dragon Queen. Thanks to that guy for making my day and making my week better. I seriously felt like I was in a Will Angus skit with his detailed facial expressions and unwillingness to break character. Anyways, foods good, great place for a slice on a late night, and you may find yourself in the presence of this scoundrel if you were to pay this...
Read moreOrdered from hotbox pizza at about 9 at night, pizza was almost 45 minutes late (took about an 1hr and 15 minutes). Driver didnt apologize, didnt care just gave us the food and left. Pizza and breadsticks cold, called them right after and they said they refunded us. That never happened even after calling another time to ask about it. The last time I will order from here is calling to place an order, said it should be ready in 15 minutes. Get there in 20 and the order hasn't even been placed by them. The person behind the counter even mutters "the order hasn't even been sent yet". Again, no apology nothing, just blank stares. Took them 30 minutes to make that pizza told everyone in the store "sorry for the wait" except for me, not sure why they were upset with me. So unprofessional, it's good pizza when it's not an hour late or cold. Sad, some of the best pizza...
