My partner and two friends (freshman at Purdue) placed a pizza order for pick up this past evening and when they returned to pick up their food they were told they were never allowed back, refused any reasoning as to why, and refused the food they had already paid for. After walking out when first asked and not understanding what had happened, they received an email informing them their food was ready and called to verify, which a staff member did along with the names with the orders, and they walked back in to pick up their food. Upon returning, the employee that took their order originally (black hair, nose piercings) was extremely rude and abrasive and berated them to leave, again leaving out any explanation as to why they were being refused service. After receiving a call from my shaken partner and hearing about this, I called myself, as I live out of town and couldn't be there, and asked to speak to a manager and was put on hold. The same employee came back on the line and when asked what it was regarding, I calmly explained the situation and asked for any explanation as to why they were being refused service. The worker raised her voice and was extremely rude in response, and snapped back that they were rude/namecalling her. After asking how they had been rude, she refused to elaborate and hung up on me. My partner and their friends are extremely pleasant and nice people and do not recall any sort of negative interaction with her in their few minutes of ordering, only recalling ever talking about the worker when saying they were so nice while walking out. As my partner still hadn't gotten their food or money, I called again and asked to speak to a manager. I got the same worker, who said with a raised, aggressive voice that I had already been addressed and not to call back, and was hung up on once again. I called back a third time and asked for a manager once again and she finally gave the phone to one. The manager was calm and pleasant and confirmed that they were getting a refund in 3-5 days (not including the nice tip they left her), but also failed to give any additional reasoning for the treatment they were receiving. After I made these calls, a video was taken by a friend of theirs who went into the restaurant on their behalf, which shows her calmly asking for further explanation of why they were being refused service and explaining that they were shaken by the experience, and the employee in return providing the same explanation of "they were rude" in a raised voice, refusing to elaborate, and aggressively screaming at her to "Leave. Now." None of this treatment was ever called for, nor would it be even if they were rude to her. This employee has other reviews regarding her rudeness and abrasiveness, and clearly no actions have been taken to resolve the issues she is causing with customers. This restaurant has just lost plenty of business due to this incident, as it has been posted and talked about (and will continue to be), and will continue to as long as the word of this impossible worker is taken over the customers she has been rude to. We were looking for a nice place to eat when we pulled into a parking spot to see a man through the windows (salt and pepper beard, black collared shirt, looked like the manager) speaking angrily on the phone, visibly frustrated.
We didn’t know the context of the whole thing so we went inside anyways. By now, the manager had gone into another room that we walked by to get to the front counter. We could hear him ranting from inside the room and he wasn’t shy about using foul language and making derogatory comments about the race and age of whoever he was talking to on the phone. Multiple times he said some variation of how “every single one” wastes his time and energy. We left without ordering.
I see that the owner regularly replies to reviews. If who we witnessed was you, shame on you and I hope you aren’t teaching your kids to be like you. If this was a manager, he needs to go. I would NEVER let my child work for someone like that, much less have them represent my restaurant.

This was my first time trying out Mad Mushroom, and will most likely be my last. I have dietary restrictions and specifically asked for my pizza not to be cut. Pizza arrived, sliced, and after waiting 30+ mins already for the delivery, I called and asked for a refund. The woman, who said her name was Kirby, was rude & abruptly told me she would be sending someone to pick up the pizza. I agreed, then asked to speak to the manager (turns out it was her). Considering it was the manager herself showing such bad customer service, I asked for the GM’s contact info. She then began dodging my questions and telling me to just go to the site and fill something out there. Then, according to her, all of a sudden my phone that was previously working fine, “was breaking up and she couldn’t hear me” anymore and hung up.
