Leaps Coffee Shop — Restaurant in West Lafayette

I wish I could give this place ten stars! From the moment I stepped foot on campus as a freshman to this very day, their exceptional service has been a constant source of joy and support. During those nerve-wracking exam weeks, when stress consumes us all, they've never failed to bring a smile to my face and lift my spirits.

I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the incredible team here, especially Liz, Elyse, Miguel, Jaime, and Lina. Their warmth and genuine care are truly beyond words. They've created a welcoming environment where students like me feel valued and supported. Every visit feels like a warm hug for the soul. Whether it's a comforting word, a friendly smile, or going above and beyond to ensure my needs are met, they never cease to amaze me. They've set the gold standard for customer service, and I'm beyond grateful for their unwavering dedication.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting my favorite coffee shop on campus, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The three baristas (Miguel, Lily, and Tessa) who served me went above and beyond to ensure that I had exactly what I wanted and answered all my questions.

When I arrived, I was disappointed to find out that one of my favorites, the salted Carmel coldbrew I was craving, was no longer on the menu (seasonal item!). They immediately sprang into action, offering their expert suggestions to help me find a suitable alternative. They made me a cold brew with their premium caramel sauce and it was delicious! I loved watching them take the time to mix the caramel in thoroughly before adding the coldbrew so that there would not be a big lump of caramel at the bottom but instead it would be well incorporated into the drink.

They also took the time to answer all my questions about the 8Eleven bistro next door and the history behind the names of Leaps and 8Eleven! Together the three of them really did take an extra Leap to bring my morning to...

I like the atmosphere, so I wish they would serve beverages in ceramic cups for dine-in orders. The advertising pictures show drinks served in ceramics, but I’ve never actually seen anyone receive them that way.

The service is inconsistent and depends on who is serving you. On good days, I’ve received delicious beverages and excellent service. On bad days, the staff is unfriendly, and the beverages are just okay. Even the same flavored drink can taste different depending on who makes it. They offer a stamp card where you earn one stamp per visit. Today, the staff stamped my card in the same spot that had already been stamped before. Not sure if it was intentional or just a mistake, but it was a strange experience.

I visit less frequently than I used to. I mainly go there because it’s close to the university and convenient. If it weren’t for the location, I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit this coffee shop. I feel this place...
