We have been going to Poke Hibachi on a weekly basis since it opened and our family loves it! Poke is basically deconstructed sushi, so if you are a sushi fan, you won't go wrong at Poke Hibachi.
The fish quality is always amazing and we have yet to experience a bad piece. I always get the ahi tuna and it has always been fresh. Spicy tuna is also an excellent choice for the meat selection, as is the lobster. The tofu has always been excellent and my spouse's preferred selection.
The majority of the ingredients are excellent, with the exception of some seasonal items. This is to be expected and not a significant factor in the overall quality of the establishment. Even though mango is not in season, I still get it on my poke bowl because it is a personal favorite. The radish and edamame are highly recommended and works with the majority of combinations. We also pick the kani (crab) salad as an extra topping.
They also have hibachi for the unadventurous and it is quite good.
The portion sizes are excellent for the prices and we usually get large or super to take some home for later snacking. From our experience, as long as it has been refrigerated, the poke bowl is good for up to 24 hours. My wife often takes her leftovers to work for lunch the next day.

Read moreThe interior decoration is adorable and I cannot wait to come back once everything is back up to visiting capacity. I ordered a white rice bowl with fresh salmon and spicy salmon. I got a lot of add-on foods and I was super happy with the fact that my poke bowl was packed to the top by the time my order was complete. Every ingredient was very fresh. There were plenty of options. I thought the miso soup tasted like what you would expect out of a good miso soup made from a classic recipe (that is to say, delicious).
I will mention that I feel like the prices are slightly higher than other poke restaurants I have been to in the past around the Indianapolis area. There were also a lot of ingredients that were upcharged like mango, avocado, masago, and seaweed salad. It was about $30 for two poke bowls and two miso soups. On the other hand, there are not any other poke shops in the Greater Lafayette area and I am not going to complain overall about paying a few dollars extra given that the ingredients were both delicious and tasted very fresh. I will be coming back.
TL;DR: It has a cute interior. The ingredients taste flavorful and fresh. The miso was delicious. It is worth the price point. If you like poke or sushi in general, just order the food and try...
Read moreI really want to like this place. Location is great, and poke is pretty good! My biggest issue is the size of the scoop of fish. It really depends who’s serving you. If it’s the owners, they are pretty skimpy on their fish scoops. If it’s some random Purdue student, they give you significantly more. It’s not that the students are giving you too much, they are giving the right amount, but I think the owners give you way too little. Given the price. It’s not cheap and I’d expect enough fish to comfortably enjoy my bowl. Another thing is the up charge you on half their items, and at places in Indy or California, they generally don’t do that except for maybe avocado. All in all, pretty good poke, pricey, and just not enough fish sometimes...
