Outstanding pizza, possibly the best in Lafayette. This is not dorm room pizza. The menu is creative, featuring combinations you don't often see but which work quite well. Fig and prosciutto? Surprisingly good. Blackberries? Intriguing. They also have an extensive vegetarian and vegan selection. I generally prefer pizzas with plenty of meat, but even I find their vegetarian pizzas tempting. The food is also much less greasy than most others, which is nice, and keeps well for lunch the next day.
Some reviewers complain about a lack of toppings or sauce. While there are certainly other restaurants that use more sauce and toppings, I felt that the excellent bread and quality toppings made up for the lack of quantity. A little hot honey goes a long way! Besides, there are plenty of pictures on the menu, so you know what you are getting. It's also not the cheapest, but again this isn't dorm room pizza made with the cheapest factory produced ingredients. You're getting in-house sourdough bread, fresh mozzarella, goat cheese, prosciutto, and other premium ingredients. Don't act surprised that a Mercedes costs more than a Honda
My one real complaint is that they do use a third party delivery service, even when you order through their web site. I have rarely had a positive experience with either Uber Eats or Door Dash, so it is very disappointing. Go with dine-in or carry-out instead.
In summary, those looking for something cheap and vanilla will be disappointed but if you are looking for an uncommon treat, give...
Read moreHey, if you’re thinking of checking out Pizza Uncommon, totally go for it! It’s not just another pizza place—it’s like a whole vibe. Every pizza you grab helps out kids, so it’s good eats for a good cause.
Alright, here’s the lowdown:
Vodka Sausage Pizza: This one’s legit! It’s got this creamy vodka sauce that’s so rich, and they throw in some homemade sausage with a mix of cheeses that’s just bomb. Definitely start here! Shiitake Mushroom Pizza: If you’re into healthier stuff, this is your go. Shiitake mushrooms, kale, and goat cheese—it’s tasty and kinda feels good for you too. Dutch Apple Pie Pizza: It’s like dessert crashed into dinner. Apples, cinnamon, and an amazing crust. It’s a wild ride but so worth it.
Don’t skip their Chocolate Chip Sea Salt Cookies and that Ginger Brew to finish off—it’s a killer combo.
Just a tip, though: their pizzas are awesome, but if they let you toss on a few more toppings of your choice when ordering online, it’d be even cooler. You could really make each pizza your own.
So, yeah, grab a slice, enjoy the unique tastes, and feel awesome about helping out. It’s more than just pizza; it’s a whole experience....
Read moreMy wife and i just ate here an hour ago. We loved the pizza. As a sourdough enthusiast, i was delighted to discover that the dough is fermented firsthand. Overall the pizza gets 5/5.
The wings, on the other hand, were a little under cooked, in that they weren't left in the frier long enough to crisp the skin and breading. The sauce for the mango habanero and sweet thai were too sweet. My wife threw away 2/4 of her wings and i ended up directing one of my wings because of a few undercooked spots. We won't get the wings again. I'd recommend an extra minute in the frier. Also, a little less sauce too.
Lastly, the seating area was dirty. Chairs and tables should be wiped down/checked at minimum once per hour to maintain a clean entry way for guest.
Overall, we will return for pizaa to take out but likely won't ever buy wings or anything other than pizza in our future visits.
Summary:
Wings need to be cooked a little longer and sauces need to be reformulated. Wings should be crispy and not soggy.
Dining area needs to be cleaned regularly to maintain high standard of cleanliness.
Pizza is great. Keep up the great...
