West Linn Saloon — Restaurant in West Linn

The place has a great atmosphere. There is a neat covered outdoor patio out back where you can hang out, drink, smoke, etc with tables, outdoor heating and even a fire pit of sorts. Food and drinks are good at this establishment. The regular bartender is amazing! She works so hard because they dropped staff over this last year and now she has to cook the food, tend bar and serve people in the front outdoor area, inside the bar and out back. She does a great job keeping up with everyone and has an amazing attitude and great customer service skills. The owner slacks on keeping the propane tanks filled and heaters serviced. I was surprised that he barely could be bothered to change out the tanks when the outdoor heaters ran out. He had to be asked multiple times by several people before he only turned one on even though 3 ran out and the table fire pit ran out too. I would understand if he was busy, but that wasn't the case and it is winter so they were needed. He gave the impression he didn't care very much about customer service. Went there tonight to meet some people after they went to a concert. Only one of them ordered a drink while the others ordered water, and waited to order another drink. Was there for 25 minutes and had to go to the bar to get a drink. At this point in time, there were maybe 10 people the bar and three people taking orders.

We were in our 40s. All the other patrons were in their early 20s. As the bar got busier, the music changed. I finally went to the bar. Ordered a drink and a soda water with lime... Very clear. Got the beer. No soda water. It's like thy did want to serve anyone who is asking ordering alcoholic drinks. We wanted to order food, but ended up having to go to the bar to order. Food came out cold.

Not sure what I did expect. But to be treated like we're too old to hang out with the cool kids is a slap in the face. I tip a min of 20%... They missed out on a huge tip if they had decided to ask us for drinks and for food. Sorry it was too busy for the 10 people in the establishment. Their loss! Wont...

We got the cheese bread appetizer for $10, which was 4 pieces of a hoagie type bread with cheese melted on top, and came with a small bowl of some type of marinara for dipping. The marinara was lacking and the bread was not that great. We also got fish and chips "with choice of potato" per the menu. I figured they'd have at least a baked potato option, given the nice-looking menus and atmosphere. I was wrong, fries and tots only. The fish was okay but the breading was horrid. It was greasy, bloated, and squishy. Plus, no silverware; I guess you're to eat everything there with your hands.

The atmosphere was good, plenty of games such as darts, shuffle board, and some board/card games near the front door.

The women's restroom was large but messy and unkempt.

If you're going for good food, pass this place up. If you're going to play games, listen to music, and socialize then this is possibly a good choice. Although, the place does seem to have its regulars and many of them seemed unfriendly and territorial to...
