Cèrto Italian Restaurant (Events Room Available) — Restaurant in West Miami

Shockingly good Italian in Miami. My wife and I came 5 days ago for lunch and it was so good, we had to come back for dinner. Everything is good; authentic and house made.

Even the usually pedestrian chicken Parmesan is somehow decadent. The best calamari I've ever had. It was actually tender with not a hint of rubberiness.

My daughter must have just me of my wife had the NY style pepperoni pizza which somehow was beyond basic pizza fare.

The service is also some of the best I have had in Miami.

I can not recommend this place more.

EDIT: I spoke with the owner after I wrote this; which helped explain why this place is so good. He has worked in restaurants his entire life, starting as many have as a dishwasher decades ago. His family has also been heavily involved in restaurants, making his experience generational. He worked for the oldest Italian restaurant in NYC for years and while the recipes at Certo are his own, he brought in 2 additional Italian chefs to help lock everything in. His attention to detail extends beyond the kitchen and into what I consider the most important aspect of a restaurant, the service. From the often overlooked water service to the food and wine recommendations, everything happens seamlessly and continuously.

We have now been there twice; once for lunch on a Tuesday and again for dinner on a Friday; the experience, service, and food was consistently good.

I decided to visit Certo for lunch to celebrate my mom‘s birthday. The food was very good , but I was disappointed with the service. It was my first time here and honestly, it will likely be my last as a sit in customer - I would probably do order pick up instead because I was not impressed at all. We had to keep waving down our server to get their attention. All the other tables seemed to be properly followed up on, and our group was left alone for quite some time and the server seemed to come only when they were waved down. I was so exasperated at the end that I decided to skip dessert and coffee, when the whole point of our visit was to celebrate my mother‘s 87th birthday so actually we should have been able to order dessert and sing happy birthday with a candle, but we didn’t do that. I simply could not take anymore, it felt like our table was of the least interest. I wish I could give a more positive review as the food was good, however for me, it would have been more important to feel happy about great service and making my mom feel great, rather than me being annoyed and wanting to leave. I recently had a wonderful dining experience at Certo. My date and I were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service we received from our server, Francisco. He was very attentive to our needs throughout the entire meal, and made sure that our dining experience was nothing short of spectacular.

For our appetizer, we shared a classic Caesar salad which was fresh, crisp, and perfectly dressed. For our entrees, my date enjoyed the linguini a la carbonara, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I opted for the black linguini with calamari, clams, and Florida lobster tail in lite tomato sauce with cherry tomatoes, which was a delicious seafood medley, bursting with flavors.

For dessert, we indulged in the regular and pistachio panna cotta, which were both creamy and decadent. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were delightful.

What made the evening even more enjoyable was the 20% discount offered for neighbors night. It was a very nice touch, and we appreciated the savings on such an incredible meal.
