I have ordered online and dined in at this establishment a handful of times. Yesterday was my third time dining in and will unfortunately be the last.
To begin positive, the ramen is amazing, authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and well-matched toppings. However, the quality of the food seems to be declining. On my first visit, the karaage chicken was crispy, hot, and freshly prepared. During my last two visits, many pieces were burnt, overcooked, and lukewarm. Similarly, the ramen, which was once served steaming hot with freshly cooked toppings, now contains toppings that appear to be refrigerated, resulting in a colder dish. Hopefully management finds a way to keep the quality consistent.
The service I received during my recent visit was disturbing. My waiter, Jason, seemed off standish. His initial greeting was simply, "Do you know what you want?" This opposed with the more welcoming service I’ve received from other staff members. I was served a slushy instead of the regular drink I ordered. Since I was already irritated with the service, I chose not to request a replacement. I observed a difference in Jason's demeanor when serving a group of four white woman. I’m a young minority, and so was he, whether he assumed I would leave a tip or not, his behavior made me uncomfortable. During the meal, Jason's check-ins were insincere. He initially asked if everything was satisfactory, then returned five minutes later to inquire if I needed anything else, initially, I appreciated. However, he came back again two minutes later, in the middle of me eating, and placed the bill on the table with a simple "thank you." It was 7:02pm, closing time was at 9pm, the group of 4 whom were there before me had yet to receive their bill, I was being rushed out. I decided to not finish my meal and got up to request to-go containers. I chose not to leave a tip due to the poor service.
I hope that management will emphasize the importance of proper service etiquette during employee training to prevent negative experiences and reviews...
Read moreThe good; the bathroom for how small it is, has a nice vibe to it, minus the crooked sink. The bad, some lady had to do number 2 and I could smell it from our table, so bathroom is a little too close. I understand that they are the only close guys around this close to me that do ramen, but I will say 1699+tax for a half bowl of bland ramen, a bunch of uncooked vegetables and 12 dollars for two tiny buns with little meat in them was crazy. I paid for three people. The drinks are 70 percent ice. Boba is extra so a drink is 6+ dollars for less than 4oz of tea. The tables are so crooked I was feeling vertigo. The baby high chair was rocking because the chair and floor was bad. I had to keep my foot on the chair because I was afraid of it falling over. I was really hoping this place was reasonable, so I could be a regular. But if I did a regular full meal here, it would be more than I make in a day. On top of the 15 percent tip that was auto calculated. I don't like spending 95+ dollars and not be full. You guys do what you want. But as much as I love ramen, this is my last trip there. A tip, your bowls should be 11 to 13 dollars and more ramen. And don't do 99 stuff at the end of your prices, that is shady business practices. Allow people to quickly add up what they buy. Those dumplings should be 1.50 to 2.00 each not 6 dollars each. The merchandise needs to be in plastic individual bags. Nobody wants a shirt that smells like the restaurant. Stop putting so much ice in your cups. Use crushed ice one inch from the bottom, if boba no ice. Do a small divider hallway for the bathroom to the right, a vent at front of bathroom door and one inside, put a support under the floor and a floor jack and level that floor out before it gets worse, I'm not Gordon Ramsay, but come on. Post your changes. Maybe my group will come back. Who knows. I really did want this spot to be my regular spot. That why I gave it a 2...
Read moreMe and my husband went out for a dinner date last night to what was our favorite spot in reading. Now I don’t think we will be going back. The server seemed new, but that wasn’t the issue.. We order 2 drinks a appetizer and our entrees.. our appetizer came out before our drinks, when the appetizer did come out it was nothing like it was supposed to be. We ordered the steamed buns which were hard as a rock, there was no “house made” slaw, just spring mix lettuce that the server and cook tried to argue about stating “that’s how it comes” cole slaw especially one you claim is “house made” doesn’t come from a bag and look wilted. It also stated it comes with a like wasabi cucumber sauce or something like that, that was never on it as well. That wouldn't have been our first time ordering them so we knew it was incorrect without even having to revert back to the menu.. We got our entrees and they were good, but not as good as they have been. We received our drinks AFTER our entrees and being there for 45 mins already. Seeing as my husband and I work in the food industry I let a lot slide because we’re very understanding, but I’m super disappointed and the only reason why I wrote this review was the pure sickness I’ve been feeling for the fact of we ordered a sauce, our server brought the wrong one out, realized her mistake about 15 mins after, and then came back and replaced it, I told her she could leave it or dump it because we already put our fingers in to taste it and realized it was wrong.. I watched her give in to another table...
