My husband took his Tag Heuer watch to have a simple stem replaced. To start off, the employees were rude and made him feel uncomfortable from the moment he walked in the door. He was dressed in his gym clothes since he went to Diller's after his gym workout. So he wasnt looking like a valued citizen from "Wyomissing". They took the watch and told him they would get back to him in 3 days with a quote for the repair. On the 4th day still no call. My husband called on the 5 day of them having the watch and was told that it would be 190.00 to repair the watch. My husband decided that he wanted to get another quote because this seemed outrageous for a stem on a watch. When he said he would pick up the watch the next day he was told he wouldn't be able to do that because they had to take the watch apart and the watch repair man is on vacation. After telling them that if they do not come up with his watch tomorrow he was filing a police report and reporting it stolen. The rude employee agreed to have it back on tuesday, three days later. Why would you take a watch apart only to give a quote? Did you just assume that we would agree to your outrageous price for this repair? I will never solicit this establishment again and will pass the word along to as much social media...
Read moreHorrid customer service, questionable work ethic, unreliable. Went there for a simple watch repair (needed a new battery only). They took my watch on a Saturday, 20th of June, told me they would call with an estimate by Tuesday. Ok, I like supporting local shops. Friday comes, still no word, call them, say jeweler was on vacation will call back early next week. Fine. Another week goes by, still no word. Perturbed, I call them to hear it will now cost over $200 to fix?! For a battery replacement?! Apparently, like a shoddy mechanic, it requires a bunch of other parts (the watch ran fine, just wouldn't hold a charge). I declined their service told them I'd retrieve it when I returned home. Five days later my wife shows up to pick it up, the watch is still apart from the "inspection". Won't be ready until "later". I come back a week later and for some ridiculous reason they went ahead and did their repairs even though we both said don't. So now they are going to take their parts back and I have to wait another week. IF I actually receive it next week, they will have had my watch for over a month. Last time they ever see...
Read moreI spoke with Kathy over the phone and requested a rough estimate to set a loose diamond in a platinum setting with four prongs. She was unable to give me a rough estimate of the cost to set the diamond. I pressed further as to what the maximum cost could be should this not be a simple setting. Still she refused to give me estimate as to what it could possibly cost if it was a troublesome job. Its hard for me to justify giving you my business when you are an expert in the field and cant provide me a basic estimate. Setting reasonable expectations is what you should be doing for your customers. It is simple to provide me an estimate with the clearly stated caveat, this estimate is based on provided information and is subject to change upon visual inspection. If you want business you should attempt to lure customers into your store, not push them away with a rude and condescending attitude. Wm H. Diller Jeweler may very well be an excellent jeweler but their business acumen and customer service is...
