Serrano's Cafe — Restaurant in West Sacramento

My bestie and I always love trying local spots whenever we’re in a new area, while west Sacramento isn’t new for us, we needed to find a local spot to eat while in town. It was a bit after 12p so we both figured we’d get a lunch meal, my buddy got the West Sac(on Dutch crunch) and I love Reuben’s so I opted for that but they did not have rye bread so I got sourdough. I’m not going to say the food was bad, it wasn’t, it was just not as good as I expected.. this place is busy and everyone ordering different items, I’m thinking I need a breakfast item or something else next time I’m there.. my Reuben just didn’t have much flavor and the fries were kinda room temp. My buddy’s west sac was underwhelming and the potato salad had no flavor also, I tried it cause he didn’t eat much of it. I lovely small, local places and will definitely give this place another try. The service was outstanding, our waitress was amazing! Just need to figure out a go to food...

This is a small place you will definitely want to remember and save as one of your favorites! It has great food, a great location by the freeway, and great service.

However, if you like name brand ketchup, nope! But seriously, go for the food! It's not french, Italian, or other ethnic food, it's good food of the American variety, but done very well. About the ketchup, I like the flavor of vinegar and its bite, but understand that some don't. I believe their ketchup is likely made there, but didn't ask so perhaps not.

We ordered Omelettes and when they came we said "eh, I don't like the way they cook eggs" but then we tasted them and our opinion changed to "I love the way they cook eggs!" Let me say here that both of us are cooks and we come from a line of cooks.

This time around, we ordered 5 breakfasts specials togo for the office. I have to say I'm really impressed about the ordering & promptness that the food was ready. They sounded busy but the waitress said "It'll be ready in 15!"...and it was.

5 orders of steaming crispy hash browns 2 orders of pancakes 3 orders of french toast 5 orders of scrambled, over easy eggs & bacon

1 massive country fried steak with gravy

All packed ready to eat, piping hot, massive portions. Nothing missing, nothing incorrect about the orders. I should have grabbed a few more ketchup packets. Hot sauce packets would be awesome to have on hand as well but now i'm just wishing.

So glad we chose Serrano's Cafe instead of the other breakfast place...
