New ish to the area and needed a quick early dinner while running errands. Reviews seemed great. Ordered sashimi combo with nigiri, raw roll, baked roll and edemame. Our bill was just under $100 with tip. The fish was not fresh. And hardly tasted like fish. It was an extremely bland. The tuna and salmon sashimi was thick and hard to chew. The sushi rice was not seasoned (isnt this a basic of sushi rest) and didn’t look like sushi grain rice but can’t claim to know what type of rice it is. Hard to even pick up the sectioned roll with chopsticks. Everything else as covered in flavorless sauces, especially the white sauce. Parts of the edemame was frozen and the seasoning was ok, not great, but the best seasoned item we ordered. This was the most disappointing meal we’ve ever had. I will say the food came out extremely fast. So kudos for that.
Maybe this was a neighborhood spot that started strong, but at this point the sushi from Costco co or the Nugget, a few minutes away, is much fresher and...
Read moreTo the guy who said his son rolled a better sushi roll: your kids is super talented, and should pursue a career, because this sushi is good! The rolls looked to be be regular sized. We had the albacore tataki: highly recommend. For an appatizer, we had the 'Awesome', which was true to it's name: shiso leaves stuffed with crab salad and avocado, tempura fried and topped with deliciousness. We had the Harbor Roll, and can substantiate the level is deliciousness that has been stated by other reviewers. The Sixth Man was great, the Salmon Lover is highly recommended by my dining partners. I'm not one for salmon, but they loved it. We had some nigiri, and the pieces of fish were substantial and fresh. This is a great spot. The only thing I was not excited about was the dessert. We got a deep fried tempura ice cream, the tempura was kinda soggy and thick. The scoop od ice cream was really hard, so difficult to spoon out. I was not a fan. But you won't come here for the ice...
Read moreBUSY! Went with my husband for dinner before a play on a Friday evening and it was busy. It's a smallish hole in the wall restaurant in West Sac. Limited parking or kind of a far walk.
Food: delicious. We ordered a mushroom roll, a salmon roll, crab and sashimi (I think. This is my husband's pick, so I can't remember). Everything was good (the salmon roll melted in your mouth, so sensory sensitive?). Was it blow me out of the water good? No, but we are always happy to find a decent sushi place!
Service: granted they had 2 large parties, we felt a little forgotten.
Atmosphere: nothing special. They had a sushi bar, but nothing outstanding that I would say, go check it out!
Would we come back? Maybe. Depends on what else we would find or what we are in...
