Hula Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in West Sacramento

I am confused by all the good reviews. The food was expensive for no reason. A Loco moco was advertised as including macaroni salad (macaroni, mayo and onions) and veggies for $13. We got a thin burger patty, 2 eggs, and half more than half the box was rice. No veggies included. And dont get me started on the 'gravy' slush. I ordered Hawaiian BBQ chicken, got dry chicken with a hard outside and the "veggies" were a couple pieces of cabbage. Total for these 2 things alone was $28. Both of these went to the trash, mostly full as we both got a stomach ache. It took me a while to order as the lady kept saying she couldn't understand me to answer my questions about the food. Food was fairly priced and The portions are very large. I got the Hawaiian BBQ combination and could not finish it. I ordered the seafood soup but doubt I will order it again because it only had 5 to 6 pieces of shrimp and some veggies as well as noodles. It was sparse on the seafood. However, what can you expect for under $9. The broth was very tasty though. I guess if you're looking for some nice warm healthy soup, this would fit the bill. I thought the barbecue cheeseburger with fries was a great deal. Deal. For $5.99 you can't beat that. It's a great local family home place. The prices are cheap and the portions are large. It's okay not the very best place to get bbq chicken. Reason why I say this is because the chicken I had tasted like it's been sitting on the grill for a while and not just that they try to fake their presentation of there food meaning one side of the chicken looks good but as you flip to the back side there's like alot of burnt residue from the grill that's on the chicken which is not good it and it tasted kinda old actually. The rice on the side seemed like it was cooked with just a little too much water. And if I were to rate the chicken with the rice It's about a 4/10 but on the other hand there miso soup for 2 dollars is worth it, I would have that with a...
