Ordered food & latte to go. Came to over $25.00 ! They always ask you to check the bill so they can add a “tip to bill” for “TO GO!!” I always add a dollar or two anyway but DONOT like being asked each time to “look at my bill so I can add a tip!” Starbucks charges enough for their coffees, etc that they should easily be able to pay their staff a decent salary, is my thinking. If I was eating inside a restaurant then fine to ask for a tip but for “TO GO ITEMS”????” Normally I get one lg latte & still they ask for a tip. As I said earlier, I will hand them a dollar etc but to ask for it( like everywhere nowadays, just kind of “does away with me! Anyway, they handed me sandwiches, I had ordered individually (????) & I asked the cashier ( older woman with dark hair pulled up & glasses) if she had a bag to put these sandwiches in. She said “NO, THEY HAD RUN OUT???” How do you run out of bags & how am I supposed to transport 6 sandwiches, besides the point of them getting cold, plus drinks( no carton)! I got home, took a big drink of my latte( no sugar) original w/no flavoring & almost spit it out! It was some kind of CHI TEA WITH FLAVORING & EXTRA SUGAR!!! If only that cashier had paid as much attention to giving me the correct order, for money I spent( there few times a week generally, so a good regular customer) as she did trying to get a big tip out of me!!!! I immediately called them, which I never usually do but so irritated at this whole experience!!! A young girl answered “KELLY” & couldn’t have been nicer! She apologized & told me to return( to far & wee hrs of morning, plus I was recovering from operation & had been dying for a latte. She said to come the next day for a free latte & I asked her to make a note of my latte w/name( extra large one. Well it snowed, I got ill so never returned for my latte but the “bad taste from that experience remains!”🤣 I guess what irritates me the most was how the cashier kept asking me to look at my supposed bill( no bill just add a tip!) and I gave a big tip for service, number one I didn’t receive, she completely messed up my order( sandwiches wrong) & no bags or carton for drinks( order a complete disaster), while I customarily spend “a small fortune there each wk( even buy treats for my nx door neighbor too)! Dunkin Donuts 🍩 is right across the street( no tips allowed but I tip regardless, if my husband in mood for donuts) & I might switch...
Read moreEvery time I come here the line is incredibly long and slow... but I was willing to overlook this due to the circumstances. However, the last time I went to this location I waited in line for 30 minutes only to have been given the wrong drink... unfortunately we had already pulled away when I discovered this (by taking a sip which was dairy and I was sick for the rest of the night) so I had to get out of the car to try and rectify the situation. I was certainly not going to pay $5 dollar for the wrong drink that neither I nor my partner could drink. They apparently have had their lobby closed for some time so I could not go to the counter. I knocked on the door and tried to get the attention of one of the baristas behind the counter. One was at the drive thru so I figured she would not be able to help but the other looked at me rolled her eyes, shook her head and then flat out ignored me. I had to keep knocking on the door and pointing to my drink saying "you gave me the wrong drink!" before the barista at the drive thru finally gave me a hand signal for "one minute". Then another barista came over from the back and through the glass kept pointing to the sign that I couldn't come in the lobby and kept muttering something but I couldn't hear her because she had a mask on and refused to open the door to talk to me. I kept saying "you gave me the wrong drink, can I please have my drink!" and she shook her head and pointed at the sign but I wouldn't give up and she finally pointed at the side window. When she opened it she was extremely rude to me asking what I wanted and I told her they gave me the wrong drink and she literally said "You could have just said that"... I have never been so angry. These workers are rude and contrary to popular belief they are not understaffed. When I worked at Starbucks we closed with three people and had the lobby open and it went smoothly... I don't know what their problem is but I'm never...
Read moreNeedless to say by the lack of STARS given there is a problem at the Riverdale Plaza Starbucks! My spouse ordered her drink ahead, and as always I said I would order when we get there which, I did! So, we waited our turn to pull up to the window where the person was more than willing to take my card for my order. She handed me my wife’s order and walked away. I waited 3 mins and finally threw my hands up in the air. The young lady opened the window and stated, “we have only 1 BAR (barista) working the counter, can you not see the line out the door and the line behind you? It will be a bit!! I told her I do not see the line out the door, and she shut the window. All I saw behind the glass was 4 maybe 5 people behind the counter standing or walking around 3 with headphones on TRYING to look busy. 1 was wearing a light gray sweatshirt with a pad, showing it to anyone who would stop and trying to act as if she was very busy. Now, if you’re just standing around (managers included) and you have only 1 Barista for a HIGH VOLUMN TRAFFIC AREA, why are you not jumping in to help? Does management not care about the loss of business due to the lack of production, or are they to busy trying their damndest to just look busy?? Everyone behind that counter should be able to take orders, and make the coffees on those orders!! If not, they need to be re-trained or trained! 15 mins I waited for my order, and the gentleman who gave it to me did not want to hear my complaint, and surely didn’t give a DAMN about what I had to say. His one word reply of, OK and the smugness on his face spoke volumes for his work ethics. No customer should sit 15 mins in drive thru, or stand in line (if that was indeed the case) for just as long! It would be time to shut it down, clean house and start to rebuild...
